Reviews
I really wanted to enjoy this game because the atmosphere, concept, and connection to the Dead by Daylight universe had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the technical performance completely ruins the experience. The Casting of Frank Stone suffers from constant stuttering, FPS drops, hitching during important scenes, and overall inconsistent performance. The worst part is that these issues tend to happen during major cinematic or tense moments, which destroys immersion in a game that heavily relies on atmosphere and storytelling. What frustrates me most is the feeling that these problems are never going to be properly fixed. It feels like the game launched with major optimization issues and then support quickly moved on. Seeing similar complaints continue long after release makes it difficult to trust that meaningful patches are coming. Players are paying for cinematic horror experiences, not ongoing performance troubleshooting. A game can have a strong story and interesting ideas, but if the technical state constantly interrupts gameplay, it becomes difficult to recommend. I hope Supermassive Games starts putting more focus on optimization, stability, and long-term support because these technical issues are overshadowing what could otherwise be great games.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 1: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

as a dbd enjoyer i absolutely loved spotting all the lil references, easter eggs and bits of lore scattered throughout the game. i also rlly enjoyed how much your choices actually matter. even the smallest decisions can end up changing who lives and who dies T_T there’s loads of replayability too with all the different outcomes, endings and collectibles, so it’s definitely worth playing more than once if you’re anything like me. i will say it’s a lil on the shorter side, so i’d probably recommend picking it up on sale if you can, but i still had a great time with it. i do think you’ll enjoy it even more if you’ve played dbd beforehand bc you’ll understand all the references and appreciate the endings so much more, but it’s still a fun game even if you haven’t. overall i genuinely had a great time with this and if you like choice based games, horror or dbd then i’d definitely recommend giving it a go. 7/10<3
The only "choice" that "mattered" was the choice to refund and unfortunately I missed the skill check

Hey. Sharing my walkthrough at https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL957yPFpIoy_sP93UVp2cUgoNPkTjtcps&si=fZlWKcEEumDqY7wc Summary: The Casting of Frank Stone is an interactive horror adventure set in the universe of the video game Dead by Daylight. The story takes place in the small town of Cedar Hills, where a group of young filmmakers becomes involved in a terrifying mystery connected to Frank Stone, a notorious killer whose violent legacy continues to haunt the community decades after his death. As they attempt to create a horror movie, strange events begin to blur the line between reality and nightmare, drawing them into a supernatural force beyond their understanding. We control multiple characters and make choices that influence relationships, key events, and who survives the story. As secrets are uncovered, the group learns that Frank Stone's crimes are linked to a much darker power connected to the Entity, the malevolent force at the center of Dead by Daylight. I believe that they made this game to have impact on the Dead by Daylight community fans so they could try a different kind of game in the same environment. But, as per my experience, it feels that "something" is missing in the game. Progressing in the game you will be able to understand the LORE behind it putting the pieces together from the conversations and the lecture parts. I will not compare with other games but this title still brings psychological horror, mystery, and suspense. Try it by your own.

If you get this game. Don't expect many choices that matter. Of those choices, you can't really infer what will happen. Even if you could, you won't care what happens as the story makes no sense and the characters constantly contradict logic/reality. The setting feels like it should be cool, but there is effectively two locations to explore with nothing to find other than collectibles. The action/gameplay is nonexistent as even the quick time events are pointless. If you're looking for another supermassive game to play - go play any of the dark anthology games as they are all 100x better than this unfinished mess. I'd hardly constitute this as a game, as you're strapped into a story where you influence almost nothing. Gosh I wish I could refund the 9 dollars I spent on this mess.
şu ana kadar optimizasyonu en kötü rezil beter oyun diyebliirim. oyunun kendisinde bile hatalar var bulmacada bir yeri geçmeye çalıştığınızda geçemiyorsunuz çünkü oyunu kapatıp açmanız gerek oyun hatasından dolayı. tekrar girince görev açılıyor oyunun dosyaları bozuk. bir değil iki değil oyunun su an 5. saattindeyim ama kaç bug gördüm sayamadım artık. hikaye desen ortadaki hikaye 3-3.5 saatlik oyuna bile sığdırılabilecekken sırf siz oraya buraya gidin diyerek uzatılmıs. the quarry yeterince kötü derken bu oyun ondan 20 kat daha kötü. optimizasyondan dolayı oyun size zaten oynama imkanı vermiyor. OYUNU BİTİRDİM TAMAMEN ZAMAN KAYBI SONU ASLA TATMİN ETMİYOR ÇOK AÇIK UÇTA KALMIŞ FAZLASIYLA.
I'm going to be honest, I only got this game because it was on sale, and because of the free cosmetics in Dead by Daylight. My main survivor, Vee, did not even get the shirt (as of March 2026 (Every current original survivor except her has a shirt.)) Just to clear something up, if you refund the game, your rewards will be revoked in Dead by Daylight, just to let you know. Very little choices matter in this game. That's not good for a choice based game. Spoilers, only one character can really survive in the 2024 and I don't even know if it counts. Everyone else either dies or gets thrown into the Entity's realm, so if you want the best ending, I'd argue you just let everyone die instead of having to face blight forever, except for Chris who you can send back in time in two parts of the story, one that possibly lets her stop everything from happening. If you are not a Dead by Daylight fan, you probably won't understand the story, if you are, you also probably won't, but you'll get free cosmetics. TL;DR buy if its on sale so you can show your a dbd fan on your profile or if you want to give your survivor a T-shirt. unless said survivor is licensed or Vee Boonyasak
