Unfortunately, I can't give the game a positive recommendation. The use of roomscale was mostly nice, but it caused some annoyances, particularly in the third room, which was a pain to navigate through. Of the five rooms in the Cabin, only two of them had much in the way of real puzzles (the others were mostly scavenger hunts, one of which was only challenging because the lighting wasn't great and as a result it wasn't clear what items can be interacted with and which cannot). I did like that the game had more of a plot than some other escape rooms I've played, and the voice acting was a welcome addition. But the story never really amounts to much, so story alone isn't enough to recommend the game. Additionally, something felt "off" with the visual representation of the hand controllers in the game. My hands looked like they were a few inches away from where they actually were, if that makes any sense. It didn't really affect my ability to grab anything in the game, so I don't think it was a tracking problem, but it did hurt immersion some. The game wasn't too long--I got the "good" ending on my first play through in about a half an hour--but I wouldn't have minded if the experience had been more engaging. For the same price point, I would recommend VR: Vacate the Room instead.
Really good game, the puzzles can be hard and some easier. It has a few current bugs, but the gameplay, sound quality and graphics are great. Bugs: 6/10 Sound: 9/10 Gameplay: 9/10 Puzzles: 8/10 Graphics; Inside: 7/10 Outside: 10/10
Stupid escape the room. 1) Hands are the wrong way round - talk about immersion! 2) Why can't I break the damned glass with my brass candlestick?
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
A bad "escape room" game. The game only lasts 15 minutes, with only one or two decent puzzles. Everything else is just "find the thing", which is difficult because the lighting is absolutely terrible (most light sources only extend a few feet, and for some reason the game contains an auto-exposure feature,a horrible idea for VR) There are plenty of other escape rooms for VR. I'd recommend trying a different one.
The quality is good, physic is good. Okay. But that is noth enough. I expected more, not only 5 rooms. It tooks 30 Minutes... wow... For this price? Sorry, this game has to be for free. I played other VR-Games for free, and the content was more then this. Thus, I can't recommend it. (Even 2,49€ is too much, sorry.)
Bear in mind, I'm running this on an Oculus with 2 sensors. To be fair, the dev recommends 3. Took me about 1.2hrs to finish the game, including restarts and dealing with glitches. I experienced a lot of glitches when I played, my hand getting stuck, picking up objects I wasn't close to, tracking, etc. While I did not have the 3 sensors, every other VR game I've played has had no issue tracking me in similar environments. I agree with others that this game could've easily incorporated blink/teleportation in lieu of the space requirements. The game is fairly barebones, not a whole lot of clever puzzles. I was looking for more of an escape room experience, this was more like, find some random stuff laying around and use it. The hardest and most clever puzzle is in the first room. About the only decent part is the voice acting. Even at $5, I don't recommend this game. I paid like $1.50 for it and I felt a little ripped off.
5/10 - Just barely. $ / H : 20 min at 5.49 CDN = 16.47 CDN / Hour. Tested on an HTC Vive at 2.5m x 2.5m, no issue. I really like room escape games and I did enjoy my time with this. The primary issue is that it's over in 20 minutes and the whole find a key thing is one of the 3-4 puzzles in each room :s. I liked parts of it enough to say it's worth it for an escape the room fan but I have a hard time warranting the price tag or any price tag really. If it was a free to play demo that would be fine but there are just too many things you could buy over this and get a LOT more of your monies worth. bottom line: If you just can't get enough room escape and have 5 bucks kicking around this will take up about 20 minutes of your time. However, if you are looking for something deep or something that will be worth more than 20 minutes look elsewhere. ------------------ Make up your own mind. DanielJMWaters.
I thought this was a amazing escape the room game... It had great graphics, controlls and a small storyline.
