better call this game the binding of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. absolute buns. i dont even like roguelikes why the fck am i playing this? still recommend this game to roguelike lovers. wasnt really anything for me

7.5/10 One of the og roguelikes. Very replayable and with a ton of content if you like the grind. However, the gameplay definitely feels dated by this point. Also, as in most roguelikes, RNG can make or break your runs. Personally, these days I enjoy roguelites more for this reason, where you can still have some meta progression without having to learn every pattern of every enemy or pray to RNG gods.

[b]This game honestly feels way harder than its sequel.[/b] And no, it's just not because the Flash version runs like a fcn slideshow and you have to play it in a small window. Some rooms and enemies just feel unbalanced, especially the eternal ones. But what I especially like is that some items (like Ouija board), secret and arcade rooms feel much more valuable, and you actually wanna find and use them. Every item feels viable and useful. Absolutely love it. I'm glad this game became the start point for the best roguelike game ever, and if you've already got Dead God in Rebirth, I'd definitely recommend giving this game a try to test your mechanical skills
