Terra Mystica is one of my favourite board games, but the poor interface and lack of developer support really make this adaptation disappointing. On some of the menus (cult track, for instance), it is very hard to figure out what magical point on the screen you have to click and how many times in order to take the action you want to. After being stuck on a screen for 10 minutes I had to look up in the forums how to take the action (it turns out that when you press on a certain part of the screen the game registers your choice and makes a banner disappear, but with no confirmation that a choice has been made - very poor design.) The fact that that forum post is years old proves that this publisher (Digidiced), ported over the game "well enough" for a quick buck, and doesn't stand behind its games. There are many better platforms to play this game on. Don't support developers who don't support their games.
This game is OK but not worth the money. The artwork is pretty nice and the tutorials are decent enough. But there are way too many screens and clicking for this game to flow nicely. There are also so many basic features like that are missing, I feel like I am playing an arcade game from the 90's. I've played Terra Mystica as a board game a few times so would consider myself a beginner with basic knowledge. I have now played around 10 games on the PC version and I can say that even the easiest AI is way too difficult for someone wanting to learn and improve. Picking favour and city tiles infuriating as I have to keep cancelling my turn to check my status on the cult track, scoring and see which resources are available to me so I can plan my next turn. On single player you are also always first to place the dwelling, which sounds good but it takes some of the unpredictability out of your first turn and you are always last to pick a bonus card. If this is an early iteration of the game, I think the developers can go much further with it, but be warned its a bit painful to play this.

The reviews for this game are unreasonably negative. Yeah, the interface is awful, but you get used to it. Online play works fine with friends, never tried an open lobby. Where the game really shines is the AI. I've played a lot of board game implementations where the AI was so shockingly retarded that - after learning the basics - you are pretty much guaranteed to always win. In Terra Mystica I still sometimes get stomped 30 hours in, and I'd say I'm an alright player (got a couple of 140+ point games under my belt at least). Good AI is the most critical component of board game adaptations and the developers excelled at it. If you're interested in Terra Mystica and want to learn... don't play the tutorial and instead watch a couple of youtube videos, then play against bots.
Very good implementation of the Terra Mystica board game. The biggest positive feature of this game is the AI. Because the AI oponents are usually playing very well. Unfortunaltelly, if you choose the strongest AI, the waiting time for AI turn to finish can get unconfortably long. And one game with 3 AI opponents can take about 45 minutes. But with medium dificulity, opponents react much faster and they still dont play that bad. User interface could be done better, sometimes you always have to open "action selection" window and select your action. It would be better to have some shortcut on the main screen, which you can easily click (example of this is doing special action of the fraction).
Complicated game and takes a long time to gain a decent level of competence. I’m still working out if I think it’s a worthwhile exercise! For learning to play without annoying real opponents I think this app is pretty good: the AIs are easily good enough to be challenging. It’s a bit buggy though (it has frozen completely on me a few times - mainly when I used 'undo' actions) and I would like a bit more guidance (e.g. hover over things to see some explanation tooltips). I haven't explored the 'ranked game' option much yet - the only time I tried I didn't get opponents quickly enough - but I would hope the freezes would not occur in that scenario... I really liked the little sonic motifs for each character/faction.
I tired to get behind this and felt this was like over-complicated version of Catan - Requesting a refund. I did not enjoy playing this.
I have low vision and enjoy the game as it's one of the few I am able to play with others. As I said I do enjoy the game, however I do experience an issue when trying to remote play. Only the host is able to move the mouse even when all others are selected to be able to use mouse and keyboard. Didn't have this issue before update. Would be nice if the cursor was a little bigger and a color that didn't easily blend with so many of the backgrounds and menus as I can not see it in it's current state.
