TechBeat is a very simple tow-down space shooter game: there is just a single screen (no moving scenery/level), and enemies float into it in quicker and quicker succession from different directions (telegraphed if from the lower parts of the screen). You die from a single hit to your core, which is the only part relevant for hits. Sounds a bit repetitive and maybe even boring at first, but the controls, enemies and weapons are great. And you get better every time you play -- without any rogue-lite meta upgrades, just from playing and improving your brain. The difficulty scales perfectly, and that is why I still recommend it, despite its simplicity. You are not gonna play it for hours at a time though, it's not a relaxing game, and not for everyone. But I like it. 7.5/10 from me.
