FUN GAME YOU SHOUD PLAY
buen juego
idk what to say but it's fun as hell
Okay Let start this off by saying Team Fortress 2 isn’t just a game. It’s one of the funniest, most chaotic, and downright most lively experiences I’ve ever had both in a literal sense (I, too, am a creature of flesh and blood, walking this God’s green earth) and in the sense that TF2 feels like a living, breathing entity that doesn't really feel like it should exist, but yet it does. It’s probably the most fun I’ve had in an online game in years, and that’s saying something in this current era of gaming where either feel overlyserious with certain esports titles or battle royales designed to make monetary value of your every waking moment. TF2’s humor is what mainly sets it apart for me, and by the looks of it, otehrs feel the same way. It’s the kind of game where you and your teammates can basically spend an entire match perfecting your taunt game whether it’s synchronizing a group dance, timing the Heavy’s “POOTIS” to co exist with a perfectly placed “k” input (mapped to the kill key, because why not?), or just generally turning the battlefield into a stage for the world’s most absurd improv comedy show. The funni moments are endless, and they’re what make TF2 feel less like a game and more like a playground for creativity and laughter, which is mainly what makes it unique compared to other competitive shooting games. Also, if I had to pick a main class, it’d be the Engineer every step of the way. Why compared to literally all the classes in the game? Because playing Engineer is like being the The Human Shield of TF2 part builder, part defender, part sitting duck if you’re not careful. There’s a certain joy to it that I haven’t found in many other classes. You’re not just another gunner on the battlefield, you’re the architect of your team’s success and the bane of the enemy’s existence. Placing dispensers and sentry guns to hold a choke point? It's definately Stressful, but rewarding when your team pushes forward because you bought them time. Constantly scanning for Spies lurking in the shadows, ready to backstab you into oblivion? Edge of your seat stuff. Praying for an Uber Medic to swoop in and save your hard-built buildings from a Demoman’s sticky bomb trap? That’s the kind of tension that makes TF2 feel like real a high stakes thriller. And here’s the thing, that stress isn’t unique to the Engineer. Every class in TF2 demands focus, adaptability, and a healthy dose of chaos management. Even the “simple” roles like capping a point or grabbing intelligence require split second decisions and teamwork. Sure, some classes have it easier in terms of minimal management, but they’re all part of a symphony where every player’s actions can turn the tide of a match. But here's the real meat and Potato's, what truly makes TF2 special though, is its community. The maps? Mostly if not all community-made. The mods? Community driven. The animations, memes, and fan creations? All born from the love of players who’ve kept this game alive for almost two decades. Valve’s decision to largely step back and let the fans take the reins speaks volumes about their true respect for the game and its community. While Valve did eventually return with new updates in 2023 after a seven year hiatus (the last major update before that was in 2016, almost a decade ago!), the fact that TF2 thrived without constant developer intervention is a testament to its design and the passion of its players. Which is also another reason as to why it stands out from most competitive shooter titles. I mean, just look at YouTube and search for “SFM animations” or “TF2 fan films,” and you’ll find thousands of videos featuring the game’s iconic Mercs. The sheer volume of fan content isn’t just a sign of longevity, it’s proof that TF2 isn’t just a game. It’s a cultural phenomenon that continues to inspire creativity, camaraderie, and endless laughter. Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room, TF2 isn’t exactly flawless. Far from it. It has its moments especially when playing Engineer that will make you want to yeet your controller across the room, and become animated like a cartoon character, all red in the face and have steam come out of your ears. The Spy, for example, is a constant PAIN IN YOUR ASS, If you main Engineer, you will develop a love hate relationship with Spy players with the amount of times they sneak up on you out of no where, stabing you in the back and destroying your buildings. Meanwhile you just have to sit and watch as all your hard work gets destroyed while waiting to respond. Which can be extremely infuriating if you're just starting out. And then there’s the competitive mode, which, let’s be real, has its fair share of issues that even the most seasoned TF2 players can’t ignore. But here’s the thing those flaws don’t detract from the fun to be had in the game. If anything, they make the victories much sweeter. There’s nothing quite like outplaying a Spy who’s inches away from backstabbing you, or watching your team push forward because you held the line with your sentry gun. TF2’s imperfections are part of its charm and why it still stands the test of time. My Verdict: 8.5/10 So, where does that leave us? I’d give Team Fortress 2 a solid 8.5/10. It’s a game that’s aged pretty well, despite its flaws. What holds it back from a full 10? Well, the occasional frustrations with classes like the Spy, the wonky competitive mode, and the fact that Valve’s updates have been pretty inconsistant at best. But those issues are outweighed by everything that makes TF2 great which is, its humor, its community, its creativity, and its sheer fun times to be had. If you haven’t played TF2 yet, do yourself a favor and go check it out because you just might end up the funniest experince of your life. And if you've already played it? You already know. You’re part of the cult. (one of us, one of us, ONE OF US) So here are my final thoughts and honestly I could ramble about this game for hours (and honestly, I probably have). But I’ll leave it at this: Team Fortress 2 isn’t just a game you play. It’s an experience you live. One that proves sometimes, the best things in life (and gaming) are the ones that make you laugh, sweat, and cheer, all at the same time. And if you don’t have the attention span to read all this? Well, too bad. Sucks to have a small ass Gen Alpha brain like yours. :)
