The optimization is terrible. Even on low settings, the game suffers from severe stuttering, lag, and massive frame drops. Worse, trying to adjust display options or save graphic settings triggers a constant UE4-TaxiLife Game Fatal Error crash to desktop. Whenever the game crashes during a save, it corrupts the local GameUserSettings.ini file in your system's AppData folder. This locks you into a startup crash loop until you manually dig through your hidden system files to delete the config file yourself. On top of the crash loops and optimization issues, the game breaks frequently with peripheral hardware, overlay software, and DirectX resets. Save your cash and wait until the developers fix the engine crashes and clean up these corrupted configuration files before even considering a purchase.

Game runs great, the controls are great. I've seen a few complaints about wheel support and honestly I haven't had the same experience. The key bindings I find annoying, If you don't own a shifter there is no way to change gears unless you switch to mouse and keyboard and do it manually which I hate. But besides that my logitech wheel controlled really well on this game. However, the NPC AI literally ruins the entire game. NPC pedestrians will stop in the middle of the crosswalk, sometimes when you pass them they do a 180 and turn around suddenly to get in your way. Running into them cancels whatever job you are doing and gives you a fine too which makes sense, but the speed limit for areas where there is a lot of crosswalks are absurd. You would NOT be trying to go 30MPH on such a small street with like 3 different crosswalks on it. The other cars will frequently not follow traffic laws, do not use blinkers, break check you constantly, and straight up sit at a traffic light or sign and not move, even if you honk your horn. They are programmed to wait for pedestrians but they will sit for WAY longer than they have to before a pedestrian NPC tries to cross, leading them to being stuck indefinitely if enough of the NPCS want to cross the street. Or sometimes they just stop forever because they feel like it. And it's not like this is rare either, over the first 6 hours ish I've played it's happened at least 10-20 times. The only way to fix it is to hope there is a way around or quit to menu. (I heard there is an option to call the police and get rid of the cars but I haven't found that) After reading some other reviews I've seen the dev actually KNOWS about the AI issue and has replied to multiple reviews complaining about the exact. same. damn. thing. Some of the reviews I saw were up to TWO YEARS OLD... DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. They are not interested in fixing it and the replies to feedback are performative.
Dlouho jsem si tuhle hru chtěl koupit a vyzkoušet, a teď je za dobrou cenu ,tak proč nakonec ne. Čekal jsem od teda víc... Graficky to nevypadá úplně blbě, ale odrazy v těch zrcátkách jsou strašný, líbí se mi, že si můžete upravit aspoň trochu kabinu, ale zrcátka upravovat nejdou, což je docela na houby. Samotné ovládání auta je takové celé kostrbaté, pokud si to v nastavení nenastavitéte podle sebe, tak si tu jízdu neužijete. Město jako také nevypadá zle, ale ty interakce těch NPC je něco strašnééého, z ničeho nic si prostě týpek zastaví v plné rychlosti a stojí jak tvrdý Y, pak dá blinkr doleva a stejně jenom stojí a čumí. Pak nechápu ty semafory, mně blikne zelená do křižovatky, ale jim asi taky, páč jinak nechápu, proč do té křižovatky jedeme všichni zaráz ze všech směrů... :D Hru mám všechno na epic, ale příjde mi, že je graficky mnohem horší, než co propagují videa zde na Steamu. Interakce se zákazníky je zajímavá, občas si s vámi jen tak povídají a hra vám dá možnost ze tří odpovědí, a nebo se zeptají jestli bych jim mohl pustit rádio, takže to je celkem fajn. Hru jsem hrál jenom necelou hodinu, takže ještě neznám všechny mechaniky hry a co ještě může nabídnout, ale určitě bych si tuhle hru za plnou cenu nekupoval. Teď nevím jestli mám dát kladné hodnocení a nebo záporné... Je to tak momentálně k téhle chvílí 50/50. Asi to spíš doporučím, ale jenom kvůli tomu, že cena odpovídá kvalitě, což za 240,- proč ne.
I've been looking at this for a while and have just got it from Loaded for £4.49 so thought why not, let's give it a go. For the most part it is enjoyable and relaxing, got a Moza R3 wheel and pedals and some other peripherals connected to my GT Omega wheel stand. The game recognises some of the peripherals, unfortunately it doesn't recognise the Moza stalk system but that's ok. Been playing this solidly for the last 90 minutes and only paused to write a few thoughts on the game so far. The graphics are very good, the city is full of life and bustling with people and traffic, as it would be in real life. The people are a bit weird looking and walk in a funny way but there aren't many games where the animated peeps look realistic so that can be forgiven. So far I'm enjoying this and I can see me purchasing some of the DLC available as well. The only slight negative I can mention is the sound isn't very loud, I've checked my pc audio settings and the game audio settings and they are on max so perhaps it is just the coding of the game making the volume low. I could whack the volume of the soundbar right up but then I'd probably forget and blast my ear drums out when I close the game and go back to YouTube haha !! Relaxing and quite realistic, enjoyable and a bargain for what I paid for it too, cheers !
