Tankenstein is a 3rd person ARPG where the player controls a dishevelled tank in a post apocalyptic wasteland looking for new parts to survive and upgrade itself. All of the other tanks in the scrapyard have the same goal, which makes them hostile in this survival of the fittest arena.

About

Fight through a wasteland filled with rogue AI tanks that seek your destruction. Use clever strategies to destroy them before they destroy you, then lay claim to their parts to build the ultimate vehicle of destruction.
Featuring an in depth damage and projectile system, you will be rewarded for precise shooting and learning your opponents weak spots.

Trawl the wasteland for the scrap of the old world, and fight through hazardous environments to find the tools you need to survive and give yourself an edge in every battle.

Mix and match increasingly powerful gear scavenged from the wasteland to build a Franken-tank of looted parts. Separately upgrade your CPU by cannibalising the mind of your opponents to gain the ultimate edge in the final survival of the fittest.

The wasteland is a procedurally generated world of devastated environments. Each new biome provides a unique challenge for your vehicle. Master each to maintain the strategic advantage at all times.

Fight difficult bosses that challenge your build and tactics to become the dominant AI tank in the wasteland.

DUDE FIX IMEDEATLY! MY GAME WAS PAUSED AND WHEN I CAN BACK IT WAS UNPAUSED AND I WAS DEAD! Didn't use to be a problem before the last update, please advise? And maybe add in a SECOND CHANCE option at the cost of points?

This is a really fun little game for what it is and what it costs at the moment, but it is VERY obviously still in the early stages of development with a lot of design and gameplay elements still to be fleshed out. Some constructive feedback for the devs below: 1) The weapon balance is probably the first thing to look at. At the moment ROF is frankly king, and I would rank the gun types in the order below. If I rank one gun at Rank 1, and another at Rank 3, it means that a Tier 1 gun of the type would be at least as good as a tier 3 gun of the other. Or a Tier 8 rank 1 gun is as good or better than a Tier 10 Rank 3 gun. Rank 1 - Machineguns Rank 2 - Autocannons Rank 3 - Tesla Cannon Rank 4 - Cannon Rank 5 - Ordnance Gun Rank 6 - Hullbreaker Rank 7 - Magma Cannon. And yes - it does mean that I'd usually take a Tier 3 machinegun over a tier 10 Magma Cannon. 2) The pathing/traverse issues can be a bit annoying. I know the devs have already made it easier for tanks to run over random stones and stuff in a previous patch, but attention shouldn't be lost on this. 3) UI QoL change: a) The most important - click-to-aim should be added as a priority option. This is a serious accessibility issue. Hold-to-aim has no real place in a mouse-and-keyboard set-up, it can be extremely painful for people with carpal tunnel, and actively contributes to causing carpal tunnel. It is also an extremely easy option to implement. b) Marking items for recycling should also mark them for swapping when looting a wreck and the inventory being full. c) Aiming around corners is clunky, with the gun-sight aiming at the sky more often than not if you decide to ADS when near a wall. d) Minor: It would help a lot to have more readability of the various things in the inventory. I know this is effectively first Alpha though, and polish concerns like this just aren't a priority compared to mechanics and features.
already in this state game is a diamand. but rough. it has potential to be the one of the best rogue likes on market. but ofcourse only if you like tank mechanics.
TANK SHOOT GOOD
I enjoy this game.. it's a bit repitive but sometimes you just want to have a quick run and destroy some tanks here in Early Access i'm finding it a bit harder to progress now that my gear level has gotten higher. I only really have time for one run in a night so the going is a bit slower but it seems pretty balanced and i can always upgrade a couple of things per run. Don't think that makes the game any easier, There are sometimes where you come under fire and get quickly swamped. For me its because i have wanted to destroy a certain tank and not looked around enough and wound up getting popped. All in all this game has promise. its still in development but even now at 0.2.5 it has improved a lot from the game when i purchased it. Keen to see where the game goes.
Look its early access but the bones of them game could be pretty amazing. Its already a blast, its like PVE world of tanks with looting. Excited to see where it goes but this is worth the $17 or w/e it is, right now.
