Tankenstein is a 3rd person ARPG where the player controls a dishevelled tank in a post apocalyptic wasteland looking for new parts to survive and upgrade itself. All of the other tanks in the scrapyard have the same goal, which makes them hostile in this survival of the fittest arena.

About

Fight through a wasteland filled with rogue AI tanks that seek your destruction. Use clever strategies to destroy them before they destroy you, then lay claim to their parts to build the ultimate vehicle of destruction.
Featuring an in depth damage and projectile system, you will be rewarded for precise shooting and learning your opponents weak spots.

Trawl the wasteland for the scrap of the old world, and fight through hazardous environments to find the tools you need to survive and give yourself an edge in every battle.

Mix and match increasingly powerful gear scavenged from the wasteland to build a Franken-tank of looted parts. Separately upgrade your CPU by cannibalising the mind of your opponents to gain the ultimate edge in the final survival of the fittest.

The wasteland is a procedurally generated world of devastated environments. Each new biome provides a unique challenge for your vehicle. Master each to maintain the strategic advantage at all times.

Fight difficult bosses that challenge your build and tactics to become the dominant AI tank in the wasteland.

It's a bit of fun and low stress. The gameplay is mostly slowly positioning yourself and picking off enemy tanks one at a time. Don't expect high octane gameplay. More lots of moving about followed by brief periods of firing like crazy. 10 hours for getting most of the gameplay out of the way, 10 more if you want to milk it a bit.
This game is a lot of fun but also frustrating. It takes a lot of time to slowly get your tank upgraded, and then you can die so fast. You get incremental upgrades that make your next start a little stronger, but it is a rinse and repeat. It's a game that you play and die until you get a longer more successful run, and then when you inevitably die on that one, you get temporarily fed up and stop. But you keep coming back later to try again. :) As some have recently stated in the discussions, the main problem I have with the game is that enemies spawn and beeline to you while you are in the repair and upgrade menu. I think that should really just pause the game until you leave the menu. Less realistic, sure, but this is a game.

its good consept but its so unbalenced and hard those that say its no are lieing
cool concept. Fun game loop. Looking forward to the future of the game.
I will start of by saying I do like the game. The game needs a lot more development before being priced at 14.99 personally this game would sit as fair value at 9.99. (But its early access its blah blah blah supporting devs yes yes). The game can be slow to start and the speed of the tank can be brutal. Especially if you restart alot. In the same breath you don't really get the space to look at the items you got and decide what you want to keep or get rid of. Trying to make a build of a tank relies on RNG heavily and sometimes the parts do not make any sense. Tier 1 being better than tier 3. You do eventually speed up with the items. Parts don't share the same stats or follow any logic. Maybe profile customisation could be implemented where you can change the game settings etc. Enemy tanks will close the gap rapidly and you may be ambused even if you think you are pretty far away. Spawns can be random and you end up doing the same 3 checks. You can get one shot for seemingly no reason even if you go in to a heavy tank build. (Idk if its possible to one shot an enemy tank) in relation to tank damage each section has its own health and youd think if you shot a tank all around it will eventually die but it takes a lot longer than you think. Higher tier does not mean better stuff. Tldr: game has a good loop. Needs balancing. Slow starts can be repetitive. I'd wait 6 months or a sale to buy the game. Im harsh in giving it a negative but after finishing it once i won't probably play it till wherever 1.0 finishes
Good game idea needs a way to control saves as the forced perma death sucks especially as the game has chosen my new difficulty level no mater new save or not once i hit t7 is unlimited hardcore reach t4 it decides in a t1 literally back at 250m from spawn in a t4 a t1 can 1 tap me or its gonna spawn 5 tanks on me when battling a boss and kill me so needs checkpoints and a radius on reload from extracting of spawns as my last save ended when i loaded back in to 10 tanks camping the extraction in t3 area i died big surprise there good game good idea needs work still
The best tank-based roguelite extraction looter shooter out there
For people who like roug-like and tanks at the same time.
Fun and Addictive
I bought it and it kills time. Working on the REM core lets you start with a higher tier tank if you die. Wishing there was more than level 10 and still not sure how to get 4 CPU cores, but it is brain dead fun with no pressure, which is nice sometimes.
