Even though the game is extremely short and pretty easy, it has a lot of heart, and the detective elements are engaging. The stylized art is nice to look at, too. The game does a great job of showing the signs of an abusive relationship and how hard it can be to notice them when you want to believe the abuser can be better. It also shows how you need to be careful with how you offer help to victims so they'll be more receptive to you. It's so important to show women supporting each other, and this game nailed it. Please pick this up when you can; it's free.

Developed by Floramisu and Byutaki and published by Skull Queens Games, Take a Hint is a short free-to-play visual novel that delivers a heartfelt story centered on friendship, trust, and the painful reality of toxic relationships. Rather than relying on fantasy settings or high-stakes action, the game focuses on an emotionally charged situation that many players may find relatable. The story follows Delfina as she attempts to convince her longtime friend, Ailén, that her current relationship is harming her well-being. This grounded premise immediately sets the tone for an experience driven by meaningful conversations, personal conflict, and difficult decisions instead of traditional gameplay mechanics. The narrative stands out by portraying the complexity of helping someone trapped in an unhealthy romance. Delfina's mission is not as simple as presenting evidence and expecting immediate acceptance. Players must carefully navigate conversations, choosing responses that can either strengthen their argument or unintentionally push Ailén further away. These branching dialogue choices create multiple possible endings, encouraging replayability while reinforcing the message that communication requires empathy, patience, and understanding. The game's writing avoids oversimplifying the issue, allowing the emotional tension between the characters to unfold naturally throughout its concise runtime. As a visual novel, the gameplay remains intentionally straightforward. Players spend most of their time reading dialogue, making occasional choices, and observing how each decision shapes the outcome. While there are no puzzles, combat systems, or exploration mechanics, the interactive storytelling provides enough engagement for fans of narrative-focused experiences. The relatively brief playtime of around fifteen to twenty minutes makes it easy to complete in a single sitting, while the presence of multiple endings and unlockable achievements offers a reason to revisit the story and experiment with different conversational approaches. The comic-inspired visual presentation gives the game a distinct personality. Character portraits are expressive, effectively conveying subtle emotions such as frustration, concern, sadness, and determination throughout each conversation. The colorful art style provides a pleasant contrast to the serious themes, helping the experience remain visually inviting without undermining the emotional weight of the story. Combined with a clean interface and accessible presentation, the artwork successfully supports the narrative without becoming distracting or overwhelming. Despite its strengths, Take a Hint is limited by its short duration. Players looking for an expansive visual novel with extensive world-building or numerous character interactions may finish the experience wanting more. Greater exploration of the friendship between Delfina and Ailén or additional scenes expanding their personal histories could have made the emotional payoff even stronger. Nevertheless, the game's focused approach also works in its favor, ensuring that every scene contributes directly to the central conflict without unnecessary filler. Take a Hint proves that a compelling story does not need to be lengthy to leave a lasting impression. Its sincere handling of difficult subject matter, meaningful dialogue choices, attractive comic-style artwork, and multiple endings combine to create an engaging interactive narrative that values emotional authenticity over spectacle. For players who enjoy short visual novels with character-driven storytelling and socially relevant themes, it offers a memorable experience that accomplishes its goals with confidence and sensitivity. This is such a sweet little visual novel project! I've certainly talked a few of my friends into getting rid of boyfriends who treated them like garbage, so it's fun to have achievements added to the experience. Maybe they can spice up other realities of life next, like going to the DMV.
Hermoso el arte, fenomenal hijo de Ace Attorney con otros riesgos. Breve pero gratis 😎
Es un buen juego con un concepto bastante original, personalmente me la pase bien.
