Surmount

Such an adorable little big game! Climb a big mountain traversing multiple biomes with their own challenges, and complete side missions for added lore and FUN!!! Everything about the game is adorable. It has strong animal crossing vibes in how characters look and talk, and in music as well. Gameplay is simple to learn and has a good skill ceiling, especially with the optional enhancements you can unlock. Highly recommended! Took me 9.2h solo, did not try coop which could be fun.

DO NOT BUY THE GAME, IT'S EFFECTIVELY ABANDONED. The devs haven't updated or fixed numerous bugs that have appeared, and it just sullies the entire experience. One particular bug stopped me and my friend from playing, and there's no way to continue without a fix. It's a shame, because the game is charming, the character creation is great, and the physical comedy is there. Last update was on May 28th 2024. Like.... what?

Really awesome example of creating a totally new mechanic that's honestly hard to pick up, but once you get it down you wish there was a whole genre of games based around this.

I found this game enjoyable for those who want something that is not to intensly story driven and complex to play. The game is simple get to the top. I like that there is some story but I have been so busy lately that I have had not time or patience to invest in a story driven intesnse game such as RD2, Elderscrolls, Fallout or Psychonauts. I wanted something that I can complete one level under 15min and put down and come back some time later.
