Reviews
Still a really fun, tight, and challenging platformer that will help you diagnose your anger issues if you do indeed have them. The game has aged somewhat well, and it's platforming is still smooth even after about 15 years. If I had 2 suggestions, it would be to get all of the unlockable characters because you can utilize their abilities to make certain levels absolute jokes, where as with Meat Boy, you'll have to suffer by playing the level as intended. Most people probably fell into this fallacy where Meat Boy, since he's the fastest character in the game on foot, is the BEST choice for all levels and the other characters being not as fast, aren't as good. If it looks like you can cheese a level using a character, just do it, you'll probably save tens of attempts that way. Also, make sure you unlock The Kid as he is by far, the best character in the game (though Naija can be considered better than him, she is harder to play and you'll have to put blood, sweat, and tears into learning all of the skips and tricks with her). He's slightly slower than Meat Boy and has a double jump that actually let's him GAIN height, unlike Ogmo, where it barely gets any vertical height with it's ability. The Kid makes the Dark World easier since his double jump allows him to skip some parts of levels, allow him to dodge obstacles, and stall much easier in the air. The only downside is that his unlock levels are regarded as the hardest in the game, so you'll suffer trying to get him, but trust me, he is so VERY worth it. The other piece of advice is to NOT go for all of the steam achievements. Just don't do it. Finish the Dark World, maybe 100% the game, but don't go for the Boy achievements, they will actually give you a mental health disorder by the time you're done with them (if you even complete them). Overall, the game still holds up today and I still have fun with it even after completing the game awhile ago. The controls feel very responsive, even with the lack of a jump buffer, and really sells that "One more try" attitude that it tries to go for. The game even has a level creator if you're into that, and now is probably the best time to make levels since the game has a influx of new players due to the recent sale that made the game dirt cheap. (2 dollars is a absolute steal).

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
