Welcome to the coziest way to kill your friends. Super Animal Royale is a 64-player, top-down 2D battle royale where adorably murderous animals fight tooth, claw, and machine gun. Then, relax in Super Animal World with fishing, hamsterball races, and story quests before the next fight to the death.

This was one of my favorite games for years, and after the major super animal world update it feels like it went out of its way to make all of the smooth snappy convenience of the games systems and menus nonexistent, worse, or diegetic in the least convenient way in order to try and force you to use super animal world. It didn't even need to *do* that, we were all already excited for it and even now when i try my best to ignore it the hub isn't even offensive on its own. I avoided leaving a review in hopes that it'd eventually revert some of the ui changes or make queuing convenient again, but somehow every time i try to come back to the game now it just gets worse. It doesn't help that any time me and my friends try to play someone who hasn't played before SAW wants to play, and then we have to spend so much time explaining to them where the menus went, how to skip the tutorial, try to get them in a party and queue up. It is *so exhausting*. This game used to be so quick to pick up and play and now its just a painful slog. The base game didn't even change, its everything to GET to the base game. Also, they weren't kidding that this was one of the buggiest updates yet (and thats unfortunate cause i've been hoping bugs got added for years) because i kept getting disconnected from my party every time we were waiting for or starting to get into a match, which let me get into one BUT after the match was over would put me in my own lobby and i'd have to be reinvited and rejoin their instance. At first i felt bad cause the team clearly put so much work into this update, but all it did was make a mess of an experience that was once extremely quick and simple to get you or anyone new into the game for something that at best is kinda cute for a few minutes and is otherwise an annoying wall to step around to just play the game. I REALLY wanted to keep holding out for the game but oh my gosh i have lost all patience with it, I am sorry. Please put the menus back at the starting screen as *well* as the stations in SAW or *something*, even if its not just that. The game needs a LOT to be as fun as it was to be honest and im worried that it'd require reverting a lot of what was worked on to make happen.

i LOVED this game until they changed the UI, i used to be able to get in a match in 3 minutes now it takes like 10. So now it is garbage and i will not play till they change the UI back to normal if they ever change it back to normal. i hope they change it back to the old UI so bad. Until then DO NOT PLAY.

小动物之星没了,我很喜欢这个游戏,就是电脑版有点不好操作,没之前顺手了,我也玩了两年手游了,端游换皮肤什么的有点没搞懂
I'm not a huge fan of battle royales or PvP games in general, but this is a notable exception. I don't know if it's the super friendly (and super silly) community, the surprisingly engaging gameplay, or the unbelievably adorable character design + sounds, but this one is definitely worth trying. Especially after the Super Animal World expansion, which essentially turned the game into a cosy MMO inhabited by the cutest little creatures and some of the most fun dialogues I've seen in a while. The battle royale is still there if you want it (along with other game modes), but otherwise, it's mostly something you do to complete quests or level up between sessions of raving with crabs and goofing around with friends. Also, you can be a moth! If that's not worth a positive review, I don't know what is.
Praise Banan! 🍌
Im just here for the fox -fox
it is a great game and it is a shame it is not 100x more popular as it should be.
We seem to have gotten a global lobby now with a stupid story mode that nobody asked for and I really dislike that. There seem to be bots that have now been added, too. There didn't seem to be bots before when I last played about 6 months ago :-( I prefer just going solo to grind achievements and the new global lobby makes that a chore rather than something fun since it no longer takes a quick second to get into a match like it used to. Now you have to wait too long for "matchmaking" because there is no instant queue from the online playerbase anymore. Uninstalling, there's better games out there.
I would like to clarify that my concerns are specifically about the Chinese-speaking moderation team, not moderators from other communities. I've heard that the game's moderators are unpaid volunteers, and I would like to ask the team to reconsider whether relying on unpaid moderators is appropriate. 1. Moderating a game requires a significant amount of time to handle reports, maintain order, and respond to player issues. As volunteers, moderators may not be able to consistently dedicate the time needed to maintain the quality of moderation and the overall player experience. 2. Moderators have important powers such as muting and banning players. Without a formal employment relationship, clear accountability, or a structured review system, disputes are more likely to arise. In fact, moderation-related controversies have already occurred within the Chinese-speaking community. 3. Unpaid moderators are often players themselves, which can create conflicts of interest due to personal relationships within the community. Several players have already expressed concerns about unfair moderation. I have also heard allegations that report information has been shared with non-moderator players who have personal relationships with moderators. If true, this would be a serious concern, as player reports should be treated as confidential and only be accessible to authorized staff. There are also some rather absurd incidents, such as moderators treating wrongfully banned players with a hostile attitude, saying things like “I’m helping you handle this and I’m not getting paid anyway,” or posting report contents in a public Discord channel ((this person has not spoken for a long time but still retains moderator status)). I hope the team will carefully review the current moderation system and consider implementing stronger oversight, accountability, and confidentiality measures, particularly within the Chinese-speaking community.
