Fun and satisfying incremental/automation game in the vein of Forage Wizard. It's pretty simple, but it's enjoyable and stress free. I do wish it got slightly more complex, and generally bigger/longer, but for a first game from this studio it's very polished. The writing isn't particularly interesting, but I appreciate the attempt to add an extra dimension to the game. Looking forward to what this team does next!
Suncraft is a fun game that takes about 10 hours to finish. It’s similar to Click Mage, but with a prominent story and quest/job board system. You’ll like this game if you prefer task-based gameplay with a chill, no pressure atmosphere. If you’re into automation, this might be a little frustrating. Automation does exist, but it’s unlocked later in the game for the most part—and it never automates everything. It’s really just the “pick stuff up off the ground and put it into chests” type of automation. When it comes to crafting things, it’s 100% manual which means individual resource dropping into machines until very late game (when machines can pull directly from chests… but you still have to queue everything up and babysit). Games runs well on Proton. Does well on Steam Deck (although late game can drop some frames if the ground is absolutely covered with items instead of being held in chests) as well as Steam Machine. You’ll definitely want to play this game with a keyboard and mouse. The controls are never quite right on Steam Controller (2026) with track pads for mouse. Even with custom Steam input options. Simulated left mouse click, for example, somehow triggers both left and right mouse click at the same time if interacting with items, leading to picking them up and immediately drop some or all of the held items at the same time. It works OK if you stick with the default A button for left mouse click, and a dedicated button to drop items.

I'm not usually gonna review a game already in Very Positive. I genuinely don't know if this needs the push to Overwhelmingly Positive but this game is at LEAST as good as the reviews establish. I put probably 10 played-hours into this game with a little afk here and there and genuinely loved every bit of the game. Balance felt good, progression felt good, story and choice toward endgame all felt good. I was a fan of effectively every piece of the game. There's a lot of shared DNA with Forage Wizard and that's a good thing. They're both great games, but I felt like that got grindy and this stayed slick. If you feel remotely like this lines up with a game you'd like, I think you're probably likely to enjoy the game PLENTY for the low price they're asking.
Suncraft is a great, cozy little crafting game and I liked it most of the time. The story is good, there are some fun, rewarding puzzles and the incremental touch is also a great thing! For the vast majority of the time, the core crafting loop is relaxing and exactly what you want from this genre. However, the very end introduces a heavy grind, especially when you are just waiting around to accumulate gold. Or (Spoilers ahead) unlock the feature to analyze the obsidian stones... In here it's just staring at the screen...while nothing really happens. This is just...boring. This tedious pacing completely strips away the cozy atmosphere the game builds so well and the resource economy feels quite unbalanced: As you end up needing massive quantities of certain materials while others are barely used at all. Managing production also becomes a frustrating chore late in the game, because eventually the game loop is just clicking and waiting. Handling all the different machines at once is unnecessarily tricky, and the experience desperately cries out for some sort of automation system to ease the burden. Despite the frustrating final 5% and the kinda frustrating late-game machine management, Suncraft remains a very good game overall!! The world, design, the music and art and solid early-game mechanics make it absolutely worth playing and definitely worth the money.
I've already put around 7 hours into Suncraft, and it's been really easy to lose track of time while playing. If you enjoy cosy crafting and progression games, this is definitely worth checking out. The gameplay loop is relaxing and rewarding. Gathering resources, crafting, upgrading, and gradually rebuilding the village gives you a constant sense of progress without feeling overwhelming. It's one of those games where you keep saying "I'll just do one more thing", and suddenly another hour has gone by. The pixel art is charming, and the overall atmosphere makes it a great game to unwind with after a long day. Everything feels satisfying to unlock, and there's always another goal to work towards. One thing I'd personally love to see is a little more automation as the game progresses. Even if it's just being able to assign helpers to craft certain items or automate parts of the production chain, I think it would add another layer of progression without taking away from the cosy feel of the game. Overall, I've really enjoyed my time with Suncraft and would happily recommend it to anyone who enjoys cosy crafting, exploration, and progression-based games. It's a genuinely fun game, and I'm excited to see where the developers take it from here.
A fun and simple game to get lost in. Can't wait to see what the developers make next!
