Y'all got any more of them Jiang Lai scenes? I cannot even begin to express how great this FMV is. It clearly stands out within the genre, primarily because of how much more down to earth it is - at least within the realm of what an FMV can be - and feels significantly more genuine than a lot of "look, attractive women" cash grabs. The game centers around three friends who set out to build their dream: owning a guest house. Along the way, our main character, Zheng Zai, encounters six lovely ladies with each their personality type; the usual stereotypical setup for the genre. However, the game somehow manages to provide them with what feels like actual personalities rather than just shoving the actors into a role and calling it a day, albeit somewhat shallow still, as is to be expected, it's quite delightful nonetheless. Rather than going on and on about the game, or going as far as to reveal anything in particular, I'll put it like this: Such a Guy is the first and thus far only game where, when all is said and done, I did not have the heart to watch even a single regretful ending. I simply "fell in love" with the characters along the way. It's funny, charming, and slightly ridiculous, balancing the mood and keeping your entertained throughout. If you're so much as considering giving this a shot, then please go ahead and do so. It was, at least to me, worth every penny, and I cannot wait to see what the studio does next - hopefully they bring back the actress playing Jiang Lai; she's simply to die for.

Such A Guy Review - 9/10 I played Such A Guy (有这么一个家伙) for about 35 hours on Steam, completed all achievements, and played on Windows 11 with the English interface/subtitles and Chinese audio. This was also my first East Asian FMV game, so I’m reviewing it from the perspective of someone new to the genre. Such A Guy by Such One Studio is a full-motion video life/dating sim RPG where you play as Zane/Zheng Zai, who quits his job and starts a seaside guesthouse business with two childhood friends. Along the way, you try to keep the business alive while building relationships with six female leads, any of whom may become your romantic interest depending on your choices. Installation was quick and painless, and the free 4K DLC is a nice bonus. Performance was smooth for me, loading times were good, and I didn’t encounter any major technical problems. The interface is also easy to understand, even as a first-time FMV player. Moving between scenes, replaying choices, and unlocking alternate outcomes felt intuitive. Gameplay-wise, the game has a good balance of story, choices, mini-games, collectibles, hidden options, achievements, and multiple endings. The mini-games are simple but not pointless, and the achievements encourage you to explore the game more fully. Replayability is definitely a plus, since some endings and hidden scenes are unlikely to be found by accident. My main technical complaint is that the game initially defaulted to Chinese, so I had to figure out how to switch the language to English. For English-only players, a first-launch language selection would help a lot. Some phone voice messages also did not have English subtitles, and there were occasional subtitle errors or spelling mistakes. These did not ruin the experience, but cleaning them up would make the game feel more polished. The story surprised me in a good way. Despite having six romance routes, the plot remains mostly coherent regardless of which path you take. Some side scenes feel a bit like filler, but they are still fun, natural, and in character. I also appreciated that the game stays mostly wholesome. Aside from some mild suggestive humor and swimsuit scenes, it avoids excessive fanservice. The six female leads are one of the game’s biggest strengths. They feel distinct in personality, appearance, fashion, and goals. They are not just love interests for the male lead; they have their own dreams, problems, and ways of responding to the player’s choices. Some characters value honesty, some enjoy secrets, some want to be challenged, and others want gentleness. A big part of the fun is learning how to match each girl’s personality. The final chapter delivers a satisfying emotional payoff. Without spoiling anything, there was even one scene that genuinely made me cry. The main good endings are satisfying without feeling overly dramatic, and if you have a favorite girl, her ending will likely feel rewarding. The cast was also well chosen. The female leads are visually and personally distinct, which makes them easy to recognize even for Western players unfamiliar with the actors. The supporting cast also does a good job, especially Luo Xiangzi and Li Zeming. The resort setting is beautiful, and many scenes - especially around the guesthouse and hiking locations - look great. The mostly live-action filming with minimal CGI helps the game feel grounded and organic. I also enjoyed the soundtrack. The use of English songs and songs with more Western-style melodies fits the modern setting and gives the game a refreshing feel. Recommended for players who: are new to FMV games; want a story-focused interactive romance game; enjoy wholesome romantic comedy drama; like multiple endings and replay value; prefer character-focused storytelling over heavy fanservice. Pros: Smooth technical performance in my experience Beginner-friendly interface and mechanics Good story, pacing, and emotional payoff Six distinct and likable female leads High replayability with many endings and achievements Beautiful scenery and strong resort atmosphere Mostly wholesome tone Cons: Some missing or inaccurate English subtitles Initial language setting may confuse English-only players A few side scenes feel less important to the main story Overall, I really enjoyed Such A Guy. It was easy to get into, emotionally satisfying, and a great introduction to East Asian FMV games for me. Final rating: 9/10
剧情结构没问题,平淡且漫长,像是看了一部连续剧,相比其它影游福利很少,UI做的很棒,也能看出制作组的诚意,总体值得购买游玩。
跳出恋爱影游的俗套很不错的青春文艺片
