About
Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure game set on an all-new alien world. It is the next chapter in the Subnautica universe, developed by Unknown Worlds.
Driven from your home by ongoing conflict, Alterra offers you the chance at a new life. But as the colony ship CICADA shepherds you and your fellow Pioneers to your new home, something goes awry. The ship’s AI insists that your mission should continue. Stranded and faced with near-insurmountable odds, you must do everything in your power to survive. The future of humanity on this world is in your hands.
Subnautica 2 is being crafted as a single-player experience that you can optionally play in online co-operative multiplayer with up to three friends. You can choose from four pre-designed characters, with more characters and customization options coming throughout Early Access. Work together to explore long-forgotten ruins and learn to adapt to a planet that might not want you there.
To survive the depths and make this planet your home, you’ll need to utilize all the tools at your disposal. Traverse vibrant and breathtaking biomes with your Tadpole submersible. Design and customize bases to return to when your adventures push you beyond the safety of shallow waters. As Early Access develops, so too will your array of tools, equipment, and vehicles. Upgrades will help push you beyond your boundaries and unlock the secrets of this strange world.
Scan and study a rich world of biodiversity to understand life here. Discover everything from the smallest creatures to towering Leviathans. Experience the wonder, and sometimes danger, lurking around every corner. Every dive is an opportunity to uncover why the ship's AI is so determined to continue the mission and what mysteries lie beneath the surface of this breathtaking new frontier.
Subnautica 2 is an Early Access title in active development. Throughout this journey, we will continuously expand the world with additional biomes, creatures, and craftables, while expanding the narrative. You may encounter bugs, in-development features, and performance issues. Your feedback is the cornerstone of our development process. Join us and help shape the next chapter of the Subnautica universe.
Subnautica 2 is being developed by Unknown Worlds, the studio behind the award-winning Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. Our journey began with the 2003 Half-Life mod Natural Selection, and today we have evolved into a fully remote, globally distributed team spanning from the United States to the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and beyond. Defined by a philosophy of open development and over a decade of community-focused innovation, we invite you to dive back into the depths with a studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the survival genre.

Amazing game! Played first time at a friend's and managed to get my save over no trouble! 10/10. worth every penny even if pc is a potato.
Very fun, I'm excited for the full release of the game HOWEVER, the world is VERRRY small, I know it's just a beta of what we'll get in the future but very very VERY early on like before I even got a seaglide I had noticed that the map is just a tiny stretch of land pointing right at the mysterious tree, and I understand we don't get the whole map or feature like deep caves to explore right off the bat. I'm simply worried about how small each of the biomes is, in the past 2 games a biome hasn't just been one defined area, like how there were multiple red grass flats in the first or large stretches of twisty bridges or kelp forest in the second. This game feel like we're getting laser cut slices of a bigger map pasted together and I truly hope by the full release biome changes won't feel so sudden/jarring. I wanted to get my complaints out first cause I felt that was most important, I do like the new base building MUCH better, although I would like to make a rounded edges like for a glass lined viewing room or just for looks, and I like the new vehicle, I like how even in singleplayer you could hover around the outside to get oxygen instead of having to hop out and in and out and in. and I know it's been changed already y the time I'm writing this but I liked the aggressiveness of the animals, I don't want to spoil too much for people who haven't played but I feel like it makes sense with the lore of the game that anything and everything would be taking any chance to get some extra food. Also I think poking the collector leviathan bear is very fun cause you can almost see its reactions to you like flashing your lights at it or it trying to find you after you lose it. the be as honest as possible, right now I'd rate it a 3 or 4/10 the new concepts and lore are all grabbing and interesting, I feel like this is the densest story we've gotten from a subnautica game, it feels more involved and horror/esque while the other two I felt more detective-y. but again, it's just the map, its nice to see the concepts of what will be in the future, I'm just hoping (probably coping) that the biomes will be more spread out and honestly make a bit more sense as an ecosystem, the game currently feels like multiple pieces of the world slapped together cause lore wise at least I feel there's waaay too much going on for what you learn about what's happening to the ecosystem/planet
Like a seamoth to a titan class tree.
IT GOOD idk
this game reminds me a lot of another game called subnautica and i loved that game
