This game doesn't hold up, even for the year that it came out. The tutorials offered do a really poor job of explaining how the systems work. I found this particularly bad for the unit recruitment. I also experiences a number of bugs just in the first 1.5 hours of play. My cursor would disappear, the game screen would go black, and sometimes it would crash completely. I would not recommend this title.
Hello, Unfortunately, Stronghold Crusader II hasn't received any updates for a very long time, even though, in my opinion, it is the best title from Firefly Studios in terms of graphics. I think this game really deserves more support and a new update. It would be great, for example, to increase the unit limit in battle so that truly large and epic battles could be fought. Furthermore, the game could gain new mechanics, such as trenches, new unit types, or other game elements that would enrich the strategy and overall experience. In my opinion, Stronghold Crusader II is visually more appealing than other titles from the same developers. Some players enjoy playing the older games, but graphically they are outdated and not as attractive to many players today. It would be really great if this title received new attention and another update. Thank you for considering my suggestion. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I am a fan of the Crusader series , great game , got it on sale and don't regret it .

The game feels off somehow. It's not good. The characters are clunky, the AI has massive problems when it comes to basically anything and the pathfinding is catastrophic. It's not worthy of being a successor to the original Stronghold Crusader, sadly. I'd recommend Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition.
Great strategy game!
