About

Simulate large scale warfare with the armies of antiquity in Strategos. With thousands of men on screen, you can recreate real or speculative historical battles between the major and minor powers of the ancient Mediterranean.
Strategos is an ancients wargame with large scale formation movements and disorder, unordered charges, pursuing, evading, routing and morale shocks, fog of war, terrain effects, flanking and command and control simulations that bring a hardcore tabletop feel to digital, real-time wargaming.
The armies of Strategos span nearly a thousand years of the classical period, from the Hoplites and Immortals of the Persian Wars, to the rise of the Sasanian Empire against Imperial Rome.
An advanced command and control simulation encourages the player to think about the positioning and use of their generals, and when to commit them in order to balance giving orders, sending couriers, providing morale support, and fighting in direct combat.
The game contains over 250 unique units and nearly 120 unique factions, including the various Hellenic Empires, The Achaemenid Persian Empire, Rome and Carthage across different eras, Gallic, Germanic and Iberian tribes, Umbrians, Samnites and other native Italians, the major city states of ancient Greece, the Thracians, and more.
Custom battle options include selection of army lists, allies, units, army sizes, era, map, deployment distance and sides, difficulty, AI type/aggression, whether to use AI at all (alternative is hotseat), and optional randomization of army lists with options to filter random armies by era, importance, and whether they are steppe armies.
Current historical battles include Issos, Trebia, Ilipa, Magnesia, Zama, Adamclisi, Bibracte, Carrhae, Marathon and Raphia. The text-based campaigns currently include the battles of Alexander, Hannibal, the Wars of the Diadochi, the Roman Civil Wars, and the battles of Early Rome and the Peloponnesian War. The map-based campaigns include the First Punic War, the Greco-Punic War, the Pyrrhic War, the Second Macedonian War and the Greco-Persian war, with more to come.

Great game. Both fun and realistic.
Pretty good game, like field of glory terrain, troops, flanking all plays a role but with pretty unit visuals and dynamic battles. For example, you must send riders to your distant troops to issue commands, even that makes it necessary to strategize and plan your ahead your moves. I hope different time periods and related armies will also be released in the future! (I know it is still early access but one can dream)

可以接近全战系列,而且能指挥更多人。
it has a different take on ordering troops (you get little riders taking orders to your men...that's just cool) changes the way you fight. the combat feels pretty good like you have wight to your units. Campaign is cool still early stages but a breath of fresh air give me history wargamer vibs to it. Its nice to see a game like this to me. Thank you for making it.
NO AVAILABLE COURIERS! NO AVAILABLE COURIERS! NO AVAILABLE COURIERS!
很有意思,无论从哪看其潜力我感觉超过了全战。大地图模式有点失望,这一点我希望二代可以参照全战。那么将是一个十分优秀的作品。就是玩的时候看到士兵不受控制时很烦躁,但也很真实。
Still EA at time of this review, but it absolutely worth your time. The battle system, while needing a little practice at first, really shows the realistic side of ancient strategy. General shout distance, courier system, and trying to hold onto cohesion when troops see the red mist. Or trying to rally a set of troops to shore up a dangerous breach. Can become quite tense as you watch things play out. Very satisfying when you manage to juggle the intricacies of command and snatch a victory with a morale shock, as it can be like herding cats in the heat of battle. The campaigns are currently quite simple but are interesting enough to play, and certainly not easy. I think there's potentially a lot more to come from this dev and I can't wait to see what follows.
Really interesting adaptation of Field of Glory style tabletop game into a real time dynamic. The real time element works really well and allows for armies to be more unwieldy.
Great game that makes you wish more and more content was added and good responsiveness by the Dev
