Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Sep 2 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've gotta be honest, this was supposed to be the definitive edition of Harvest Moon Back to Nature, the classic from PS1, but it really isn't. It is a very bloated game. Many things just take too long to get done, and not in a good way. The extra animals available are actually much less profitable than the regular cows and chickens, getting a pet is a super convoluted process that you'll struggle to even find without a guide. The new barchelor and barchelorete are boring AF and ads nothing to the game. Exploring the mine, the mechanic added in the GBA version, is still super tedious. The new art style is also hit or miss, some characters look great, some are completely butchered (like Karen, rip girl...). But what I actually find terrible is that you are basically forced to be bisexual. Doesn't matter which gender you pick for your farmer, you'll always see the hearts for male and female partners and will increase their love even if you just talk to them. There are even achievements for dating every single potential partner before getting married. I'm sorry, but this is an RPG, the game shouldn't be telling me how to play. You want to date and marry just one girl? Well too bad, you'll miss quest itens and an achievement. Yes, it's optional, but the main progress menu will always have missing itens if you don't do that, implying that you're playint the game wrong. I simply can not agree with this design. And the final nail in the coffing for me is that it is a very sanitized version of the game. All the problems and issues that characters used to have are almost completely gone. Everyone is happy, no one has any problems, it's paradise. There is no conflict at all between villagers, everything is as boring as it can be. They could have made so much with these characters, expanded what the original game had, but no, this is a "baby game for babies", they don't trust you to be able to handle interpersonal problems. So yeah, it's a pretty empty experience. A shadow of what it could have been.

Steam could really use a "neutral" recommendation for their review system. I honestly find it difficult to decide one way or another if I recommend Friends of Mineral Town or not. It's more complicated than a simple Yes or No. Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is an enhanced remake of the original Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (PSX) and Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (GBA). It plays pretty much the same, for the most part, although there are some minor changes, additions, and quality of life improvements over the originals. So you'd think this would be the best way to experience one of the better Harvest Moon games nowadays? I thought so as well, but ended up somewhat disappointed. It's not like the game itself is bad. As I've said, it's mostly the same as the originals. It's a fairly simple farming sim with cartoony aesthetics and positive vibes. The gameplay does show its age, especially when compared to something like Stardew Valley, but there are several QoL improvements over the original games that make FoMT quite pleasant to play. So, what's the problem then? Well, this may sound weird, but the game simply doesn't "feel right". The overall aesthetics have been changed drastically. Even though the series has always been very anime-like, and used super deformed designs, this new version makes everything look like a very cheap mobile game. The graphics are very simple and the game really shouldn't be difficult to run even on an ancient machine. That alone would be fine if not for the changes of all character designs. Certain characters look decent, or do improve over the originals in some ways, but the majority of others have been changed so much they not only no longer resemble the original designs, but are not pleasant to look at in general. Some of the characters look even more cartoony than they did before, or completely lost their uniqueness (like Gray, Cliff, Won, to name just a few). I thought I would get used to this after a while, but no. In some cases I ended up disliking several characters because of their new designs, which made them even less masculine, boring and uninteresting. And that's not all. While I have very fond memories of the originals' soundtracks and sound design in general, this new version once again resembles a cheap mobile game with its poor sound direction. The music does feature all the original themes, as well as some new ones, but most of them are not pleasant to listen to. It's like the melody is there, but it's muted by way too many instruments the music tries to imitate for whatever reason. The sound effects are even worse, because not only they seem very poor in terms of quality, but also do not match the 'action' on the screen. The Axe hitting a tree, or a Hammer hitting a boulder should carry some weight or impact, but here they sound more like a very soft tap. And these are mere examples of all the repetitive and simple sound effects in the game. And I swear in some cases there is some kind of background noise that hasn't been removed from certain sound effects. In general, the more I play SoS:FoMT the more I miss the originals. I realize that their design and the overall aesthetic was a major part of what made those games special. This new 3D re-imagining with a new artstyle and sound direction doesn't work for me, for the most part. It's still the same game at its core, just with a new look. If you're fine with this change, then you should enjoy the game more. If you're not, then you may end up disappointed, like I did. And if you've never played the original Back to Nature and/or Friends of Mineral Town, then with no nostalgia factor I am not certain if it's worth getting into this game nowadays. There are better alternatives, with Stardew Valley being one of them. Friends of Mineral Town is pleasant and relaxing in general, but it's all fairly simple and nothing groundbreaking by today's standards.
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town was one of the first games I remember playing on the Gameboy growing up. For a computer adaptation, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is pretty good! I wish there was compatibility with non-xBox controllers, or that the hit marker would follow my mouse, but those are my only complaints so far. I love how nostalgic the music and characters are, and also enjoy the new additions to the game! If you play Stardew Valley and want to see one of the inspirations for that game, this is it!
Tried to replay this old classic but I have to say its so out of date and slow on everything. Switching items makes you pause just a slight bit and everything else is just slow. Will always love the harvest moon and story of season games but the newer stuff just so far beats it. For anyone wanting to replay these old generation games I just have to say get it on sale. Dont hate the game or anything but they just feel so out of date compared to all of the new stuff so for now just a thumbs down.

The game doesnt feel like a remake its just a redesign. Or maybe due to I am now Accustomed to the Rune Factory Series and Harvestella design that the old game that i like and loved in the gba games feel like a clunky mess... Nostalgia? yes i do feel that after hearing the ost's but other than that it feels meh,,, Pros: OST : ✅✅ Redesign : ✅ Cons: Controls: ❌❌❌ (They mess it up!) No Quality of Life Changes: ❌❌❌ (Like they really stick to the original) From a 20 years old game it feels Overshadowed by New Gen Farming Genre Games Even thou If you Really Want Nostalgia you can bite the bullet for the game. Last Thing "ELLI" still the best girl...
Gray, your magnet is too strong even after YEARS
Good but unfortunately the cooking doesnt have the experiment just random throw ingredient or something and no failure attempt. if bring back the cooking experiment then is a good game. dont throw away the originality of the gameplay.
Man i can't wait for Magical Melody to get a remake, or a new non-doromon title. A fun farm sim dated with tediousness. The game lost me when it introduced that to max your animal affection, you needed to continuously breed and raise to adulthood a lineage per animal type. Combined with that to meet the most extreme increments of"completion", you need to play 5 or 50 years in game, that's too much time commitment for a farm sim. I need to have an "ending" in sight. Otherwise i would play a MMO.
