6 Years and its still in Beta, but has DLC, missing a ton of features, cant create a character, locked 40fps. Walking 80% of the time finding nothing, non stackable items. Look elsewhere, better games out the for the money.
Been waiting on character creation for over 5 years now. It's still not in the game. Just reinstalled for the first time in a while and they added a few more uninteresting OC's that I don't want to play as. It's not as if they would have to create new character sprites, portraits, or animations, just allow the players to assign skills/attributes and traits to the current selection of visual character assets. I don't care about any of the written player character back stories. The characters are unvoiced protagonists where i choose all the dialogue options. I don't want to be forced into playing some character i don't enjoy. This would all be less irritating if it wasn't for the fact that you were able to specialize and build the temporary character in the tutorial/prologue dungeon the way you wanted. Then as soon you leave the dungeon and you stop playing as that character and you're fed a pack of "well now you have premade characters with pre-selected skill affinities" I'll never play this game past the start until they add basic character creation.
Really sucks writing a negative review on this game. Spent close to 160hrs in this game and had a decent amount of fun and plenty of frustrations. I however cannot recommend this game due to the developer and their behavior in the discussions. As you'd expect volatile crybaby posts just get locked and you can still see them, however valid calm criticism that makes sense and points out a lack of work ethic, gets quietly deleted. If its the discussion its gone, if its a comment in a discussion? The whole discussion is now gone. They seemingly cannot handle a single grain of criticism regardless if it is constructive or valid. It should absolutely not take this long for what is the most basic of features and stuff like gear etc etc.... I can be understanding with other more in depth systems, however at this point they are taking advantage of the good grace of their fans and customers. Like come on guys a 2nd supporter pack and yet not even character creator released? The dev will also brag when clapping back at volatile posts on things such as increasing the size of their team, ok where is the increase in productivity? There has been zero noticeable gain in that regard since then and basic features being rolled out. Do you want to be remembered as yet another dev that abuses customers, drags out EA and by the time it is released no one really cares anymore and the magic of the game is now gone, you never get that first time experience ever again. It's time to buckle down Ink Stains Games and do right by your supporters/customers, get to work and stop dragging this out. I was trying to be on your side if I could, even if the abysmally slow progress is insanely frustrating, until I saw you first hand quietly removing valid criticisms in the steam discussions. To me this is a sign of either, or both, malicious intent/intentional slow moving or a severe lack of work ethic in your team.
Devs are making it very clear they have no intent to listen to the community, taking absurdly long to integrate aspects of the game under the very convenient excuse of "gosh our game is just so incredibly complex". Add to that, after this long of not finishing what has been promised, they're now adding paid content packs. You guys sure found the time to do that extra work, huh? Avoid.
years have passed since game already had much of its 'meat' - game not only unfinished still, but devs have added a supporter pack DLC, hah. no shame at all
Fun game, wouldn't recommend.
I love this game personally but definitely wouldn't recommend it to the majority of people. I'm not saying this because of the difficulty (you get the hang of things eventually), but because this game has been in early access for many years and it probably will be for many more. I have a hard time believing it will ever be completed at all, honestly. Big updates aren't very frequent and only add or change a few aspects of the game at at time, so if your interest in the game mostly stems from what you feel like the game could be and your desire to see the finished product, you will end up disappointed and annoyed in the end. This is not a dig at the developers or me whining about the game myself. I know they're a small team and I really don't care much about the frequency of the updates or how much they add, but that's just where my expectations are for this game after playing it for as long as I have, having a tolerance for these types of games and knowing better. If you're interested in this game, buy and play it because you like it for what it is right now and look at updates as a treat. Otherwise, the slow development of this game WILL outlast your tolerance of the update frequency and your desire for new content and you will be left frustrated.
With the recent DLC and attitude the devs have given to anyone with concerns that the game is taking too long to release while still asking for "support" in the form of cash leads me to a point where I cannot recommend this game any longer. I fully acknowledge that this game has good potential, however it's been years and years of being hard stuck in EA and now the devs want to release cosmetic DLC instead of working on finishing the game? Yeah that's a huge no-go for me. Overly prideful devs that will silence anyone they disagree with and call it "flaming" in order to justify them banning me from the community was the last straw, before that happened I was still fully supportive of this game and would still have recommended it to anyone who's a fan of the genre but they screwed the pooch with the showing of a poor unprofessional attitude toward criticism. Do not purchase this game until it's fully released, these devs do not deserve another penny.
6+ years into early access devlopement and they just realeased a 11$ dlc. Greedy devs ask for more while they still hvnt delivered what they promised years ago. I heavely recommend to keep your money until / IF it ever gets officially released.
