Good first city builder, kinda tidious to 100% tho

Every market we collect.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
It's Complicated
You should play this game only if you're a fan of the franchise; otherwise, there are better options out there.
Mechanics
City building 6/10 Dungeon management 8/10 Tower defense 3/10 The best part of the game begins when you start exploring the mine. The dungeon management is peak gameplay. You have to manage your miners, turrets, infrastructure, and resources. On the other hand, the city-building aspect feels more like an absurd requirement to keep progressing through the story. First, you have to manage your workers, then the engineers, aristocrats, and finally scientists, each with more and more absurd requirements. When you reach the third floor of the mine, the game starts throwing waves of enemies at you, and you have to prepare your defenses to face them. However, the alerts the game uses are very annoying, and more than once they startled me while I was playing. The game only has four types of towers to defend your base, but I only used two of them because the game never forces you to think about other strategies. It's usually enough to just spam rocket towers.
Dynamics
Progression 10/10 Exploration 10/10 Resource Management 7/10 Constraints 6/10 Exploration in the mines is great. You progressively unlock new areas to explore and gain resources that allow you to unlock new buildings and upgrades. The pacing of the progression is the best part of the game because it gives you only what you need at that moment to keep moving forward.
Aesthetics
Narrative 5/10 Fantasy 10/10 Expression 3/10 Discovery 9/10 The story is almost what the game needs to be enjoyable. At times it is really boring, but in general it is one of the main reasons to keep playing. The characters are "meh"; it's hard to empathize with them.
The final chapter feels like: "Okay, now he's dead... what else?"
The game is quite nice and relaxing, and it handles well the progression steps, but besides seeing how you can do better and increasing difficulty, it has very little replayability: the differences among the scenarios are mostly cosmetic, and even the randomisation of mines adds very little variety. Still, fun and worth its price.
Divertidíssimo poder construir as cidades nesse jogo.
Really great game, a bit on the simple side and kinda repetitive but lots of charm and a very fun gameplay loop. Enjoy how the SteamWorld devs always try something new, def worth a look if you're curious or see it on a sale.
I enjoyed Steamworld Dig a lot. Decided why not try the next game in the series. Honestly, this was not what I was expecting. As a city-builder, it's alright. It's pretty easy and if you are new to the genre, this could be a good way to dip your toes in the water. There are lots of decorations which was greatly appreciated, and I had fun playing.
Amazing Game. So Addictive!
