About
Starwing Tactics is a turn-based tactics game where you command a mercenary team of Starfighter pilots on the war-torn fringes of civilized space. Take the tough jobs you need to survive - but not every one of your Pilots will make it home.
Starwing Tactics changes up traditional move-and-shoot mechanics by combining moving and shooting in a single order, resulting in high-speed, action-packed dogfights.
You give your pilots a flight path, and they take any shots they can on whatever gets in their sights — but enemies might get a reaction move when you attack.
If you want your shots to land and do the most damage, you'll have to develop a sense of where an enemy will go once your pilot starts shooting.
Find the line that points your guns at the target while keeping your six clear of bogeys — or hold your fire and set a trap, like the overwatch you're used to. Either way, your pilot's life is on the line, and permadeath means every call sticks.
You move your whole squadron, then the enemy moves theirs.
You don't just command sleek and deadly Starfighters, but the people inside them. Your pilots grow with you, suffer injuries, and can be lost forever. Even the most routine mission can become a story worth telling.
Acquire distinct starfighter chassis and customize their loadouts to unlock meaningful tactical options in combat. Build a squadron of complementary specialists: interceptors, missile boats, heavy hitters, scouts - and turn their combined strengths into a force greater than the sum of its parts.
Experiment with builds and adapt your squadron to counter new threats as the war evolves.
Travel between worlds and take on missions of varying risk and reward. Accepting a contract means committing your pilots to danger - so choose carefully. When money is tight and spare parts, missiles, and replacement pilots are hard to come by, which corners will you cut?
Every campaign unfolds differently as you fight your way through a dynamic, procedurally generated war where rival aces survive, return, and remember you - turning the conflict into something personal. But the deeper you go, the harder it gets to ignore the feeling that this war isn't what it claims to be, and that something far more troubling lurks beneath the surface.
