About

An entire universe awaits you in Stars Reach. In this science-fantasy MMORPG, you'll visit strange, new worlds, become an explorer, and build a life on planets that react to everything you do. Your choices will change your world. And, you'll do it with every other player on a single server. Leave your mark on the galaxy!
Each world responds to your actions. A deep, reactive simulation allows water to flow naturally, forests to burn, and lava to harden into new materials and land masses. From lush forests to winding rivers to perilous mountains, every planet has its own ecosystems, resources, and challenges. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you, how wildlife reacts, and ultimately which settlements prosper.
Planets are living systems. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you. Climate changes, creatures migrate, disasters strike, and the world reacts in ways you can’t fully control.
Travel through wormholes to discover new worlds, explore, build, survive, and thrive. Every planet begins untouched. What it becomes is up to you.
Master one of dozens of skill paths, and live the galactic life you’ve always dreamed. Whether you want to protect settlers as a ranger, build a trade empire, or offer your services as an architect, Stars Reach offers many skill paths that allow you to chart a course through space that fits your play style. There are different weapons to master. There’s a career path just for you in Stars Reach.
You’re not locked into any single playstyle. Experiment with different skill paths and find the combination that suits you best. Build your own class from different skill sets and define your role in the galaxy.
Your first steps onto a new world take you far beyond the familiar. You’ll need to adapt to your surroundings by learning to survive. Every skill path has accompanying equipment, which you’ll gain proficiency with by using those tools.
More importantly, your contributions to the community will increase your proficiency. A camp you build will earn you experience when others rest at it. Community means survival, and we’ve built Stars Reach to support pro-social behavior and limit the ability for other players to ruin your experience through griefing.
You can build a cozy cottage on a remote hill, and carve out a living by yourself. But if you crave community, team up to build settlements and cities, shape how they grow, and decide how they are governed.
Team up and claim a large plot of land that isn’t just a home base. You and your friends can cluster your homesteads, build a community, and govern together.
The resources you gather can be sold in a unified galactic economy driven by players. Or, you can use them to craft tools and technology to supply distant worlds with vital goods necessary for their survival.
Trade with players across the galaxy, specialize in what you make, and become a master of your craft and earn renown across the galaxy.
Your choices determine what comes next.
Cities grow or decline, ecosystems shift, wildlife becomes extinct, and resources are used up or recover based on what you do. Protect the environment and its inhabitants, or strip mine it for profit. Other players live with the results of what you leave behind.
This is Stars Reach! What will you become?
Stars Reach is the next evolutionary leap for sandbox MMOs.
If you are tired of modern MMOs that feel like theme parks on rails, this game is the breath of fresh air you have been waiting for. It captures the legendary, boundary-breaking magic of classic virtual worlds and elevates it with incredible modern technology. Here are the best parts that make this game an absolute masterpiece: • A Truly Living Universe: Every single planet is a fully simulated, reactive playground. When you change the world—whether you are diverting a river, freezing an ocean, or clearing a forest—the universe remembers. • Freedom Over Grinding: The classless, "learn-by-doing" progression system lets you play exactly how you want. You are never forced into a specific role or locked into a boring, repetitive mob-grinding loop. • Deep Player-Driven Economy: The crafting system is remarkably deep. Almost every piece of gear, weapon, and structure in the galaxy is made by real players, making your contributions to the economy feel genuinely impactful. • Breathtaking Terraforming: The sheer scale of creative freedom is unmatched. You can literally reshape entire planets, dig massive subterranean networks, or build sprawling homesteads from scratch. This isn't just a game you play; it's a living universe you actively help shape alongside an amazing community. If you miss the days when MMOs felt like true, uncharted adventures full of endless possibilities, do yourself a favor and dive into Stars Reach.

I wouldn't jump to review a game so quickly but it seems to be the done thing atm so I'll chime in. I'm a kickstarter backer that's waited until now to take test participation seriously. When it opened to testing last year it was a different beast. Updates were frequent and the game has grown much in this time. That time is not included in the duration shown here. We were told it was coming to Steam this year and it actually happened. I wasn't expecting it so soon but here we are. Temper your expectations. This is early access. Early access games can and often be alpha level and that's the case here. They've opened it up now so they can get the numbers up for testing and obviously to further funding. I'm actually happy with that and claims that this is broken to hell, a scam, generic or any other of the dramatic claims need to be considered before you purchase this. If you're expecting a polished game with complete systems, smooth performance etc then this probably isn't your time to jump in. Wait and pick it up in a sale or when development has reached more maturity. I'm very surprised they didn't run a promotion initially. Even just tenner discount during the first few weeks would have helped placate negative buyers but they opted for a serious price tag from the get go. Not sure what they were thinking there tbh. If you're EA tolerant and understand this game needs work, you're in a much better position to appreciate it and it's potential. Its got the elements and depth of a No Mans Sky / Minecraft survival game with the MMO elements that made games like Star Wars Galaxies and Ultima Online stand out. A lot of the skills aren't impleemented yet but you can see the skill boxes and professions that will be unlocked. They're impressive., There's detail here with physica etc that really feels unique. It's just a really interesting blend of genres and even if there's still a way to go, it's going to be a fun ride seeing the updates drop and things get more and more fleshed out. TLDR. Game has bugs and missing features but the potential IMO is worth it. If money or alpha testing doesn't sit well with you please stay on the sidelines until you're happy with the progress. The negative reviews are disapointing but I think people forget what early access actually is. This is coming from somebody who's been burnt before (I was around when games like StarForge were taking backers for a ride). This isn't one of those.
40 million for this? Did they buy gold toilet paper for the office? Seriously. I could have made this myself, alone for 40 million. Hire me. In all seriousness this is a "we failed, we're trying to recoup some of our losses by launching on steam before shutting down." This is basically Ashes of Creation 2.0 If you do buy into this game, just know that this is very likely the reality of the game and you're basically buying it and hoping it survives long enough to be something good. Definitely do your research, I thought it would at least be playable but it very much was not. The lag was unbearable
This is so far beyond bad it's disastrous, everything, especially your player character is so insanely ugly and badly animated. There are so many things labeled "WIP", and the game runs and plays like rubbish. I don't care what you label this, this is not a sellable product. The only reason i'm not refunding is because I'm an idiot who hopes this might actually get decent in the future, but I'm pretty sure this'll go the route of Ashes of Creation.
This game should not even remotely be considered early access at this point.. Its barely even passable as alpha quality and is borderline unplayable. I can not recommend this game at this time, in a few more years it may be ready for an early access period. What are you doing Steam?
I really think people with .05 time in a game should not be able to write reviews about those games. I ignored those reviews, bought the game and so far I'm having a blast! Its hard enough to be challenging but also easy enough to keep me engaged . I have a bit over 2 hours into the game and still doing the noob quests....but so far ive had no lag no stuttering no server issues none of that BS I read from the guys with 10 mins in the game Trolling in reviews.... So far ive had nothing but an enjoyable adventure on an alien planet with cool vibes and exciting encounters!! 4.5/5
This is a true early access game in an Alpha state. Devs have been very transparent about this in discord and I got exactly what I expected. This is a good purchase for someone who wants to play with the physical and ecological systems that make this game unique. You will experience bugs and you will get to witness the active development of the game that is built on top of these systems.
I will recommend the game but only for people that want to play as early Alpha testers. The game is getting constant updates so i hope it will see a 1.0 launch. I refunded simply because I expected a early access beta with a functional infrastructure/core and a basic/fun game loop. I am fine with bugs, jank, and crashing that was to be expected for EA. In my opinion, what your getting is early alpha....testing/concept phase with placeholders for everything. Animations are unfinished, npc spawns are broken, the character controller barely works, character models/buildings/Props/terrain/level design/effects are all very basic/plain/unfinished. That is the short list.... Betas usually build/improve upon a solid foundation and I don't see anything but placeholders and duct tape here. I really have high hopes for Stars Reach as they are using Star Wars Galaxies to fuel their hype. SWG was my 1st and favorite MMO until they overhauled the game to copy other popular titles during its time, removing everything that made the game unique and fun, which led to its downfall. If Stars Reach become the spiritual successor of SWG and improves upon that concept it will become a huge success. I can ignore the current state of the game in hopes it sees a finished 1.0 launch with all the promises intact. However the art style is just ugly and kidish, i really hope it's just a placeholder. It doesn't match the genre and complexity of the game. What is the target audience for this game? You have deep complex systems, no handholding, open classes which would mostly be appreciated by teens and adults yet the art style is geared toward young kids. The last reveal I seen has UFO saucers as space ships???? If they are locked into this Style, i will not be playing after release.
As a former SWG vet, I followed the game with certain expectations. Unfortunately Stars Reach feels like and performs like it was developed in the early 2000s. "Outdated" is how I can describe it best. Not the Terrafrom Tech itself, but the overall implementation. The UI, movement, character design,... Because of this very poor impression, I refunded the game within an hour of playtime. This is NOT worth 30€ in 2026!
Tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. Star Wars Galaxies is still just better, and still easily available. The theme and aesthetics of this will never catch on, and the gameplay is dated and bad, not to mention the typical server issues. The bones just aren't there.
