About

An entire universe awaits you in Stars Reach. In this science-fantasy MMORPG, you'll visit strange, new worlds, become an explorer, and build a life on planets that react to everything you do. Your choices will change your world. And, you'll do it with every other player on a single server. Leave your mark on the galaxy!
Each world responds to your actions. A deep, reactive simulation allows water to flow naturally, forests to burn, and lava to harden into new materials and land masses. From lush forests to winding rivers to perilous mountains, every planet has its own ecosystems, resources, and challenges. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you, how wildlife reacts, and ultimately which settlements prosper.
Planets are living systems. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you. Climate changes, creatures migrate, disasters strike, and the world reacts in ways you can’t fully control.
Travel through wormholes to discover new worlds, explore, build, survive, and thrive. Every planet begins untouched. What it becomes is up to you.
Master one of dozens of skill paths, and live the galactic life you’ve always dreamed. Whether you want to protect settlers as a ranger, build a trade empire, or offer your services as an architect, Stars Reach offers many skill paths that allow you to chart a course through space that fits your play style. There are different weapons to master. There’s a career path just for you in Stars Reach.
You’re not locked into any single playstyle. Experiment with different skill paths and find the combination that suits you best. Build your own class from different skill sets and define your role in the galaxy.
Your first steps onto a new world take you far beyond the familiar. You’ll need to adapt to your surroundings by learning to survive. Every skill path has accompanying equipment, which you’ll gain proficiency with by using those tools.
More importantly, your contributions to the community will increase your proficiency. A camp you build will earn you experience when others rest at it. Community means survival, and we’ve built Stars Reach to support pro-social behavior and limit the ability for other players to ruin your experience through griefing.
You can build a cozy cottage on a remote hill, and carve out a living by yourself. But if you crave community, team up to build settlements and cities, shape how they grow, and decide how they are governed.
Team up and claim a large plot of land that isn’t just a home base. You and your friends can cluster your homesteads, build a community, and govern together.
The resources you gather can be sold in a unified galactic economy driven by players. Or, you can use them to craft tools and technology to supply distant worlds with vital goods necessary for their survival.
Trade with players across the galaxy, specialize in what you make, and become a master of your craft and earn renown across the galaxy.
Your choices determine what comes next.
Cities grow or decline, ecosystems shift, wildlife becomes extinct, and resources are used up or recover based on what you do. Protect the environment and its inhabitants, or strip mine it for profit. Other players live with the results of what you leave behind.
This is Stars Reach! What will you become?

Unless you plan to support this game to reach the advertised vision, do not buy. You are basically just paying for a proof of concept with very little polish.
The videos and pictures made it look like it would be a little fun. I was going to get it for my wife and daughter, but something just told me to check it out first. BOY was I happy I didn't pay for this three times. I would have been three times as sad. It is horrible. The tutorial is trash. The weapon and tool use is laughable. Each "world" is a room, with pictures for walls, and limited movement. I would keep this game at arms distance so you do not smell it as you put it in the trash. 1000% believe this is a EA grift that will fall apart when the voices get loud enough to spread the word. I would not be surprised if it was in mixed reviews on day 2, and bad reviews by day 4. DO NOT BUY, for the love of god DO NOT BUY

I have had a good time. I have not had any of the issues mentioned in other reviews. The game just runs. There are EA issues that will get resolved in time, like all EA titles I have ever played. I wouldn't call these bugs as much as QOL improvements. A lot is to be added to the game and I wish there were not so many "WIP" for skills ... once again, patience.
Great game, excited to explore like in Star Wars Galaxies.
Enjoying the game so far. It's definitely EA, but has the potential to be great.
Great bones, needs time. will be great one day, but the progression needs improvements.
its a community game but everyone is doing there own thing. give it a few months when its had updates and maybe it will be worth playing
If games like ARK, Second Life, or Mortal Online 2 are in your library, read this: For now, Stars Reach is basically a civilization game with a strong RPG foundation. The mechanics are already better than what I've seen in Starbase or Dual Universe. Skill Tree: Deep and complex, with everything intertwined. It's clearly designed around players needing each other. From cartographer to writer, tamer, builder, fighter, pilot, etc. (not all currently available), you can really become whatever you want. Crafting: Encourages exploration and interaction without being overly convoluted. Find your niche, stick to it, and become the best at what you do. Harvesting: Probably one of the best systems I've seen in a game like this. You actually have to think about over-harvesting, competition with other planets, resource respawns, etc. The system makes the universe feel like it has its own needs. Social: Lots of systems encouraging players to work together. Becoming a citizen, selling tools, sharing XP... you can actually see the difference in progression. Gives me some serious old SWG vibes, especially the social areas where you can heal. Combat: Functional, and you can already make some nice combos with belts, antigrav, dodging, etc. Guns can also have special abilities, so it's not just pew pew pew. The foundation is there, but it could definitely be more fluid. Base Building: Probably the second weakest area right now. That said, it's also one of the next things getting updated, so I'm not too worried about it. Exploration: New wormhole planets to discover, new resources, and always something to explore. The resource respawn system is especially cool because it seems to take into account what the universe actually needs. Onboarding: The tutorial works and explains the basics clearly. However, if you need the game to give you a specific goal at all times, you might struggle. You really have to make your own goals. Graphics / Bugs: Yeah, it's janky. But it's not unplayable. I've actually had fewer bugs and less lag than in ARK. So far, I haven't encountered anything truly game-breaking. Roadmap: Very promising. PvP, taming, vehicles, and a ton of other stuff are coming. They're also moving pretty fast, which is nice to see. The Team: They're pretty transparent and honest. They obviously make bad decisions sometimes, like every dev team, but at least they own up to them. Overall, Stars Reach is still rough, but the foundations are REALLY interesting. Be a little patient and support them if you can afford it.
Love this game, if you liked SWG you'll wanna play or follow if you don't like playing an alpha build greatly recommend if you love player driven sandbox worlds with as much freedom as you can think of
This world is AmazBalls great! The inter-connected society is a high-light, while those of us who like a little more space can have that too. It is important to remember this is Alpha Early Access, this is a testing phase, but follow this development and be ready to enjoy by Head Start or General Release!
