I'm not putting in the effort to learn this trash. Too busy.
Feels more like a board game where you construct and move your ships to conquer another planets. Game is relatively simple and there isn't much strategy involved. Pace is slow. You can activate cards which give different effects or exchange them for resources. Overall more like a mix between board and card game without much depth it's not worth time.
This game would actually be kind of fun if you were able to turn off all animations and play it very quickly - about 90% of my time was spent watching animations and performing multiple clicks to do an action that should just be much faster. Even in a cheap bundle, it's just not worth the time.
Starion Tactics looks like a pretty good game. But when you actually play it, It's quite awful. Every single aspect of it just feels unfinished. It's like they rushed it, maybe got bored of it. Maybe they gave up, I wouldn't be surprised. There was a couple of updates in 2014, yea. But it's 2021 now and this game isn't ready. It really just isn't ready to be sold to people. And I mean, c'mon, 9,99€...Are you insane? It's a mediocre game, perhaps even subpar. Perhaps it could be ok with a 90% discount. But overall: I really cannot recommend this. Steam offers so many simply better games. And a huge chunk of them is quite cheaper. Don't waste your money on this experience. I think you would truly regret this purchase. And that's why I give it my negative review.
Starion Tactics
This is probably the worst 4x game I have played. It's way too casualized, but at the same time the gameplay is definitely not quick enough to be enjoyed in its simplicity. Races are unbalanced and combat appears to be too random, but I did not play long enough to analyze it.
Starion Tactics is a 2D space "boardgame" that looks like Master of Orion, but really, really isn't. Build fleets, collect artifact cards (that don't seem to do anything), take over planets on the board, and maybe fight the other AI players. Don't let a pretty face fool you... the graphics look kind of decent here, but that's a very thin veneer of style on a deep pit of mediocre. Boardgames don't compare well on PC compared to RTS and turn based strategy PC native games, for starters. And that's when they're made well. This is just an ugly mess. A lot of sloppy/poorly done design elements really kill any hope for this to be considered "average". A good example is when you play team games, while you have more than one player on the same team, you all have the same colours... so how are you supposed to tell whose units are whose? It's a complete rubbish implementation and asking near AAA pricing for this aborted shovelware is just unforgivable. You can get Stellaris for almost the same price on sale.
