This game runs swimmingly on Steam OS, just make sure you get the engine fix mods on nexus, otherwise you will have a lot of stuttering. But as for the game itself, I would give it a solid 7/10. Not as bad as people tend to think of it as, but does not compare to a Fallout or an Elder Scrolls. The gunplay is probably as good as it has ever been in a bethesda game, but there is much about this that is admittedly kind of generic. But the exploring is fun, the combat is fun, and the usual shenanigans that you can get up to in a bethesda game is all there. (Note) This a review of the base game only. I do not have the DLCs.
I have a lot of fun with the game in its current state and form.

The best single-player space RPG on the market right now. (Especially if you're into Bethesda Sandbox.) It’s easily one of the most polished launches Bethesda has ever had, anyone who’s played their titles before Skyrim knows exactly what I mean. Out of the box, the game runs surprisingly well, holds a steady framerate on mid-range hardware, and rarely crashes. I haven't hit a single hard crash yet, to the point where I actually turned off auto-save with full confidence. I’ve been playing since day one and keep coming back for bite-sized sessions of pure space exploration. Bethesda has also done a great job supporting the game; updates like the vehicle patch brought massive QOL improvements alongside the Free Lanes update for free, on top of the already incredible modding scene that keeps things fresh. It’s way too easy to get swept up in the online negativity these days and lose sight of what makes a game genuinely fun. Is the story a masterpiece? No, it can be a snooze at times. But the core gameplay loop, the gunplay, the powers, the loot, and the sheer scale of exploration, ties together into something deeply addictive. If you take it for what it actually is rather than what the internet decided it should be, there's an incredible game here. Give it an honest shot. o7. See you out there.
This is a very good Bethesta game. But it lacks in a few areas. The characters are a little lack lustering and the missions felt a little repetative, but other than that the game was very fun.
Tedious and not very enjoyable from the get go.
played thru as a han solo type renagade dude, then played as a rough and tumble cowgirl since there is Sam and figured they could yee haw around the univers all on Xbox now ipurchased on steam so i can be a young brash guy who gets swept up and is actually excited to be part of Constelation, i don't see how people can spend 100+ hours on a game and still give it a negative review, it's BUGthesda so yeah def far from perfect but with the robust mod scene there is never a shortage of fun and amazing ways to enjoy this game!
Ehh, okay. Here is a thumbs up just because the Modding potential of Sci-Fi is pretty high.
