Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 22 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Howdy folks! This is an amazing game, I bought it full price after seeing Jingles play, and it was very worth it. Game took about 26 hours to complete, neither rushing the main quest along neither being particularly completionist. The game is very fun and exploring is great, there's always the urge to go further and explore more and more, and watching your ship grow from a dinghy barely able to tickle a pirate's paint to a dreadnought that vaporizes smaller ships as soon as they even think of entering weapons range is really fun.
Buy. Very fun and exploration is good.
So good, loved everything about this game and am patiently awaiting the next one.
Great game
It’s fun to play in a lighthearted way. I enjoy researching better technology and gradually building up my ship, then exploring further and further into the expanse, meeting all the alien factions and blowing them up for their resources. I do find myself clicking through a lot of the planetary dialogue because I don’t really care what they have to say. It might be affecting my immersion in the game, but I find a lot of it a bit repetitive. Some voice acting would have been a great addition, although it’s still enjoyable without it. I don’t regret buying this game. I probably won’t remember it as fondly as some other games, but it does the trick. I originally got it because of the good memories I have of Star Control. It falls short in some ways, but it definitely scratches a similar itch. It’s not a bad way to spend your time when you can’t quite find the exact game you’re looking for.
Large universe, plenty to explore. Additional note, I saw that someone else had a problem selecting options on the trade screen. Couldn't get the arrows to buy/sell. I also had that issue. After looking around for a long time, I figured out that the mouse cursor has to be located to the right of the arrow icon. Put the cursor on the arrow icon you want to click. Move the cursor to the right until it is off the arrow, then try clicking.
One of the best top down space exploration games out there. The only one that really scratches that Star Control 2 itch. Relaxing exploration, fiery battles and intriguing plot.
