Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 22 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Probably the first time I review a game so I'll keep it short. This game is truly Star Trek in spirit if not in IP. It's got combat but doesn't limit itself to it, it's got oodles of exploration, it's got feisty insectoids. Dialogue and crew banter is good, story isn't anything ground breaking but well tied together. Could some aspects be polished, could it go further with the exploration content? Sure. Even so, 9/10 for me, well worth the price and look forward to their next title.

I'm fairly neutral on this, but coming down on the side of no. It was alright, and I don't regret buying it, but I'm not interested enough to finish it. It's an interesting concept and I like the universe. It has a very real Star Trek feel in the best possible way. However, the exploration can get tedious and I never liked the combat. I think the combat is ultimately why I gave up on it. If you like top-down shooter games, which I generally don't, you might like it more than me.
I appreciated the game files not being encrypted or packed away so I could change the character names and photos of the crew easily. It enhanced the game for me vs the original character art. My crew was: Lacey Chabert - Penny Robinson (Lost in space), Jewel Staite - Kaylee Frye (Firefly), Alive eve - Carol Marcus (Star Trek Into Darkness), Linda park - Hoshi Sato (Star Trek), Simon peg - scotty (Star trek), Jennifer Morrison - Allison Cameron (House MD)... and a few others for other stations and ships. I enjoyed the game, the writing for each planet and story was interesting enough to prevent me skipping reading it. Ship building is ok, would be nice to have more choices of weapon types and color control that was part specific not just 3 sliders for everything. The replicating station mission was an OP farming situation for resources to sell, tho I guess a matter of choice.
Whilst a perfectly functional game of solo space exploration. I found everything from the combat, ship building, research, exploration, and the story to be uninspiring and incredibly dull. Buy it if you have a scratch to itch but otherwise you will miss out on nothing by not playing this game,
Great get while on sale, personally I see it a little pricey at MSRP. The ship builder is pretty intuitive while offering decent depth for what this game is focusing on. You can get enough tech to make any weapon your main focus if you really want, though some may take longer than others. I think I was generally positive but mid on this game until I decided to go exploring in a random direction, deep into the black with no indication anything was there except the world border. Lo and behold in the middle of nowhere I found a species completely different from anything I had seen thus far. Plus anything that lets me itano circus earns serious points.
Thank you for giving us a game that feels very Star Trek at this level of quality. Is it the best game you will ever play? Probably not. Is it great fun and delivers on what it says on the box? Absolutely yes. You explore weird space stuff, you talk to aliens through various means, and you will probably miss some things if you play like me! Enjoy your time in this little gem, it is moments well spent.
The game is fantastic. As a friend of the old Freelancer, it's hard to find space sims that allow you that feeling of being lost in another universe without being overcome with information. The game is quite entertaining, the controls, the ships and the upgrades are entertaining to play with and a lot of the credit goes to the writing of the game. If you like space games and RPGs, this one must be on your list.
This is the closest game to Starcontrol 2 that I have ever played. And yes, I have played Starcontrol: Origins. If you loved Starcontrol 2, then I highly recommend this game. One warning though, you HAVE to pay attention and read everything. Just like Starcontrol 2, there are problems you have to solve by randomly finding things out in space, and you have to remember where it was that you needed to use that item. Thankfully the game has a feature that allows you to add a note to a point in space. Also, ship design is a bit overly complicated in my opinion, but that is really my only complaint. So, Starcom: Unknown Space is NOT for people who just want to turn their brain off and shoot some stuff, but for the rest of you... I highly recommend buying it. Starcom: Nexus was pretty fun too, so I might recommend picking that up too.
