STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™

It's been said thousands of times, but Knights of the Old Republic is a wonderful experience. Beware of technical issues if you play on modern hardware, but nothing should prevent your total enjoyment of this excellent game. Here's to the remake!

A classic Bioware game that tells a Star Wars story worth experiencing. While the game does show its age, both in terms of gameplay and graphics, it is still a game that is more than playable. The story is fun, albeit a traditional narrative about one overcoming their past, and the supporting cast do a brilliant job of helping the main character stay interesting.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic n’est pas parfait. Il est lent, parfois rigide, techniquement dépassé. Mais ces défauts s’effacent face à ce qu’il accomplit : raconter l’une des plus grandes histoires jamais écrites dans l’univers Star Wars, tout média confondu. C’est un jeu que l’on refait, non pas par obligation, mais par plaisir. Pour revivre cette aventure, pour retrouver ses compagnons, pour refaire des choix différents, pour ressentir à nouveau cette montée émotionnelle unique. KOTOR n’est pas seulement un grand jeu Star Wars. C’est un monument du RPG, une œuvre fondatrice, et pour beaucoup, moi compris, l’un des meilleurs jeux jamais créés. This game is so broken that even ultrawide patches dont work. Even after I patched everything, Computer Screen has no visible icons. You need a PHD to patch this game, because it's beyond usable

Shouldn't need to mod a game from Steam in order for it to run at a basic capacity. This kind of software shouldn't be allowed on here anymore, but we know it will be as long as it makes someone money.

English Version (french below) : Such a charming game. The story and characters are top notch, the music is very nice, and the gameplay... Well, it depends. I like the gameplay because I've grown used to it, but there is no denying that it hasn't aged the best. Lots of things are not explained or are very confusing if you've never played a D&D styled game, and the first planet (not counting the prologue, which is very cool) is very very very long. It drives a lot of players off and that's the shame because it gets so good afterwards. Definitely recommend it if you're willing to go through the beginning ! Version française : Kotor, c'est un jeu qui a tellement de charme. L'histoire et les personnages sont autant de bonne qualité que la musique. Quant au gameplay... Ca dépend. Personnellement, j'aime bien parce que je m'y suis habitué mais ca serait mentir de nier que ca a mal vieilli. Très peu de choses sont indiquées et pour des gens qui n'ont jamais joué à un jeu avec des règles similaires au D&D, ca peut être très compliqué à comprendre. En plus la premiere planète (pas le prologue, qui est très cool pour le coup) est vraiment vraiment longue et pas forcément passionante, donc ça repousse beaucoup de joueurs et c'est dommage parce que c'est vraiment un super jeu. Si vous etes prêt à passer au dela du début un peu compliqué, je le recommande très fortement

Bioware said "here's a Star Wars RPG" and then handed me a 40 hour dopamine drip. Evil or good? Light side or dark? Doesn't matter, it broke my sleep schedule either way. The combat is a bit crusty by modern standards, yeah. Turn based but not really. You'll spend the first hour wondering if your attacks are doing anything. They are. Trust. But the story? Absolutely cooked in the best way. The twist alone put this game in the hall of fame. HK-47 is still the funniest character in Star Wars, and I will die on that hill. Gets a bit tedious on Dantooine, skip to the good parts. You'll know. Genuinely holds up. Install it. [b][9/10][/b]

Got stuck on the final boss a decade ago when I first played, then lost my save. Finally got around to finishing it recently; this time, I actually built my character correctly and the final boss ended up being one of the easiest fights in the game lmao. The story is so good and is what carries this game to this day.
