I couldn't force myself to keep playing. I hated AC Mirage at first with how clunky it was, but i kept playing and it became fine (100% it), but this game is just something else entirely in how bad it is. The gameplay elements in this game is just so bad that i wouldn't recommend anyone picking this game up, even at its 75% disc rate that i bought it at. 1. The stealth in this game is simply bad. Considering its a Ubisoft game and how they've worked on AC series, i expected better. If you're infiltrating, get caught, and died, reload to a save, the enemies you knocked out to pass through is back alive. So lets say you finish the job from that save, you go back out the same way, they're all alive and in some cases its nigh impossible to break through without getting detected and having to blast your way through. I think they tried too hard to prevent us from save scumming in this game, when almost all stealth games rely on us to learn the map and enemy behavior, then retry for a perfect run if we ♥♥♥♥ up. 2. I get motion sickness chasing random pirates on the ship. Its not even fun chasing bugs on your screen which goes around you and forces you to keep rotating this oversized ship which cant rotate fast enough. Maybe if i sticked with it and became better at it, this wouldn't be an issue, but it was so bad that i just stopped wanting to interact with anything related to the ship. 3. Contract system is a bunch of fetch quests that ultimately makes reputation and decisions in the main quest doesn't matter. Some of the quest also still have bugs on it. They tried to emphasize too much on RP experience instead of gameplay experience. I don't get the single try contracts as well, when it just means that you have to go back to your ship, check contracts, take them, and then go out again, wasting 10 minutes? These contracts failure also persists on your save even if you make them before you fail them lol. 4. The world exploration is horrendous on the speeder. This is speaking just from the first world you're in, maybe its better on the others but i don't believe it can be at this point. Its quite barren in terms of content, landmarks with treasures that are cosmetics and doesn't do anything to your character (basically a waste of time doing them). Some of them has parts for upgrades but i always sigh and feel pissed off when the treasure is just some keychain for your speeder. I can say a lot more bad things about this game if i kept a note of every single thing that frustrated me when i played it. Dying makes you lose money instead of reloading a save, wanted system, ability unlock requirements that isn't retroactive, Kessel Sabbac has too much RP, etc. The only good thing about this game is your pet Nix being cute thats it. I can't believe i got baited by youtube about how this game has gotten better. If this is a lot better, i can't imagine how bad it was during release. EDIT: I ended up finishing it because of sunk cost fallacy. The frustrating part of this game, the stealth, becomes irrelevant once you get upgrades and just blast your way through everything. The ship has gotten better once you get the upgrades, although i still hate it a bit. The main quest in itself is quite interesting but nothing special a 7/10, there were still parts that made me frustrated, something like "why is this traversal puzzle still here in the penultimate section of the story", completely breaks the pace. There are a lot of things that i just wish was more polished. The reputation system, how enemies respawns, how you could affect the world around you. You do this main story where you decide who the Queen of Ashiga clan is, but nothing really changes to the world. No matter how many times you betray factions, you can just go to a Miyuki Trader, buy syndicate data, and restore the rep. You can also just kill an entire base of any faction and they'll just respawn at the exact same place and treat you the same if your rep is good enough. What they could have done was lasting decisions where if you side with Crimson Dawn in the first area, maybe the Pyke Syndicate territories becomes Crimson Dawn's. The contracts you'll get from Crimson Dawn will be much more and more oriented to stealth, while if you side with the Pyke you'll get more smuggling. I feel like there is so much potential but it was just not there. I feel like they could delete this rep system and nothing would change much about the gameplay. My biggest gripe about this game is still the open world. I absolutely hate figuring out where treasures are, spending a lot of time on it, to only receive speeder/trailblazer coatings, that does not have any impact to your gameplay. In CP2077, you do all this NCPD scanners and gigs because you need the payout for better chromes, faster/combat cars, level up, and most of them also have a little bit of story from them through datapads. Since there are no such things as levelling in this game, and unlocking abilities are through experts, the side missions/contracts feels something you don't even wanna do. If you're considering whether to buy, the main quest is decent, blaster combat is fun, the world is beautiful, stealth is meh, open world leaves much to be desired. If you can get through the first hours in this game, at least until you complete all main quests in the first world, you'd probably have a decent time. I still can't recommend this game, there are still a lot of unresolved bugs, outdated/frustrating gameplay elements. If you've played better games before this, you'd be as frustrated as i was at the start of this game.
Whatever happened before, this is a fun adventure game. Not an action game, but a fun and beautiful to look at adventure game. Yes, its can sometimes feel like an AC reskin, but we're here for the SW worldbuilding. Ultimately, it's a recommend.
I'll preface this with saying that I believe this has the potential to be a top tier open world game, one of the best I've played recently! It is however a technical mess, memory leaks, poor optimisation, crashes (3 in 3 hours is a joke)
Gameplay
(bspwl Deckung suchen)
Audio, Grafik & Technik

Audio: Der Soundtrack liefert authentisches Star Wars Flair. Die Musik ist atmosphärisch und unterstreicht das Gefühl, sich im Star Wars Kosmos aufzuhalten. Insbesondere der Soundtrack bei Verfolgungen oder beim Abheben und Landen ist grandios komponiert.
Grafik: Optisch weitestgehend sauber, solide Inszenierung, schwache Animationen.
This game is probably these worst, most unstable game i have purchased. This game is so stupid. I have ran into so many bugs that the game is borderline UNPLAYABLE. I often run into the bug where you just fall through the floor and are unable to clip through to the playable area again, often requiring my to load a previous save because if i just save and exit it will load the game in side the bugged area. That has happened more times than i can count. or your game will get to a location and upon loading the area the game will crash, and then upon launching the game again the game will crash upon loading the game, which i have to load a previous save AGAIN. I absolutely HATE this game. I hate it. and i wish i could like it because I'm a huge star wars fan and the universe of this game is so interesting. But the game is just so poorly optimized and, like i said, borderline unplayable. Id like to preference this as i am not a reviewer. I do not play games for a job or career. I spend my hard earned money on a game that is just broken. The game has to be in such a bad state for someone like me to leave a review. Point is, the game is gorgeous. The game is also UNENJOYABLE because the game is in such a bad shape. I will probably NEVER recommend this game to ANYONE. and its a shame. If you are looking at buying this game, DONT. I hope you save your money and buy something else.
This is my all-time favourite Star Wars game. I downloaded the Demo some months back when it was discounted 95% off and just £5.00 roughly, but hated it. I was confused at the mechanics, couldn't find where to go, and felt nothing for any of the characters. I chose not to buy it as it didn't seem worth a fiver. I'm so grateful to the friend who convinced me to give it a second chance. Starting properly at the beginning of the game, I quickly got hooked into the story and started caring about the main characters. Baffled why they chose the part they did to be the Demo, but this is genuinely the most immersive and Star Wars feeling open world game. I've played hundreds of hours, and will definitely play hundreds more. Ignore the Demo - download the full game.
you getting a negative review for not having it on steam family
i would encourage anyone who likes open-world adventure games to play this one. It is enjoyable and has many unique gameplay elements with tons of things to do. Fair warning, it does take some time to get your footing in the game, so some patience is required through the first four to six hours. At the time of this writing, i've got about 40 hours in. I've read several of the negative reviews, and it seems most are performance-related. For my part, i've had no performance issues at all and no crashes. It runs great on both of my systems, one of which is a mid-range AMD Ryzen gaming laptop, and the other is high-end Intel / Nvidia desktop. i was put off a bit during the tutorial missions, which gray out saving for a few hours at the beginning of the game. After that, though, and after getting through the learning curve, the game became very interesting and enjoyable. The environments are huge, and through the first 40 hours, i've only worked through two planetary locations and have advanced the main story maybe 20-25 percent. The combat is fun, especially the ship combat; with only a couple of upgrades to weapons and shields, you will be able to hold your own against the many pirates and hostile factions in the space environments. These are large and varied, set mainly in the orbits of the planetary locations. the upgrade system is fair, with stepped progression. the reputation system between the various factions is a little difficult to manage, especially when you start taking contracts and have to make decisions about which faction you are supporting at the expense of another. your faction standing has real gameplay consequences, which i personally think adds an interesting facet to the overall experience. I have noticed that quest markers are not designed to be pin-point accurate. usually the markers will get you in the ballpark of where you need to be, and then you have to figure it out from there. There's not a lot of hand-holding, is what i mean to say. I did get a bit annoyed with the arrest system at first, if you get caught in a restricted area by any given faction while snooping around or working a contract. But with a little practice using the companion mechanics, and some ability upgrades, maintaining stealth becomes manageable. I'm finding this game to be a breath of fresh air; the creature and character details are amazing. the cities are populated and vibrant with excellent design. the planets and space environments are interesting and offer unique challenges. the game encourages you to explore and talk to people you meet in various places. I think a great deal of thought and care went into the gameplay architecture; it is one of the very few games i have played where i actually bother to learn the primary mini-game - - in this case, Kessel Sabacc, as there are quests and DLC which require you to play it. If I have a complaint about Outlaws, it would have to be the minor glitches i have experienced with cloud sync between devices. none of these glitches have lost me any save data however, thanks to a nifty feature that allows you to upload or download any save to or from the cloud manually. Overall, I'd say it's one of the most interesting games i've played this year. And with the present deep discounts on the price, it's a must-buy for star wars fans, even if you don't end up liking it as much as i do.
You know, there is a great game here buried underneath so many bugs and so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you only occasionally catch glimpses of it. Quest markers sometimes lead you where you need to go, sometimes they point you within a hundred meters, sometimes they don't show up at all. Maps are pretty much useless unless you just need to know a general direction. Pathing is largely linear when comes to exploration, most interesting locations will have one way to arrive and you have to figure out what it is only to get rewarded with trash. Faction system is absolutely ridiculous - you can do several quests for a faction and then lose literally everything you had with them a more because a non-optional, unavoidable, story mission forces you to choose which faction you are going to lose all progress with. Loot is useless. Credits are pointless. Side quests are mostly filler -but at least they work, whereas main quests are well designed but often broken. Save system is malicious and capricious. Every time you make a mistake it will auto-save immediately, whenever you want to make a save to explore or to experiment the option will be unavailable. To compound on these miseries, autosaves will resurrect dead enemies in the area as well as retain reputation hits for decisions you haven't made yet if you reload after deciding to do something else. Oh, and the clothes you buy with DLCs? You won't have access to them in the beginning, when gear with stats are unavailable, but you will get access to them later when you have access to better kit. Aside from all these things, the rest is great. It feels like one development team made a good game and then some other team took over and tried their best to sabotage it. Pity, because it would take so little to redeem this title. Honestly, the reputation hits have become a deal breaker with me. It wastes so much of my time and frustrates so much of my intent. I haven't even finished the first planet and I am pretty sure I am finished playing this game.
A bit hard to recommend if you aren't a fan of the Star Wars universe, its a love letter to it, but it's a ubisoft title and its been rushed out of the gate, the game has quite a few bugs, if you use a steam controller or ps controller the game has a bug with steam input and will flick your camera downwards randomly. It also had a bug with flickering textures if i ran the game above 60 fps lol. So i ended up increasing the quality and limiting the fps to 60 halfway through the game. Don't get me wrong the game is fun and the locations are really well done, the highlights of the game for me are your companions and the few cameos some iconic characters do. Story is decent but predictable. The performance is a bit rough knowing the few bugs i already mentioned before, i was able to run it at 83 fps capped until i got the texture flickering bug, i could have run it with a higher fps number but it's not worth doing in the summer heat. Rest of the game at 60 due to the bug but my gpu was using way less power, except on toshara and akiva, those 2 planets will kick your gpu in the nuts with the foliage, i was still able to run at 60 native and maxxed for most of the game (no ray reconstruction) @1440p, on those 2 planets i just used DLSS quality. Overall if you always dreamed with driving around a speeder around some Star Wars planets and doing missions for the syndicates while having a sidekick and not beign an OP Jedi, this is your game. I would still recommend grabbing it on sale, the DLCs are Ok, i liked the Wild Card dlc way more than the pirate one.
