✪✯ 8.5 ✯✪ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3761852319 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3761852357 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3761852410
Before anything else: I did not have performance issues with this game. I'm running an old Vega 56, and despite all the reports about stuttering, I found some fixes online and the game ran completely fine for me. So no, this isn't a negative review because of performance. I'm giving Jedi: Survivor a thumbs down because the game sucks ass. The gameplay is frustrating, unfair, and completely unfun. I finished the campaign on the second-highest difficulty and was already ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fuming by the end. When I went back for 100% completion, I dropped it to Normal because I couldn't be bothered anymore, and the game still managed to piss me off. I've never played Dark Souls, so I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert on Soulslikes, but I've always heard that Souls games are difficult while still being fair. Jedi: Survivor rarely felt fair to me. Enemies can stun-lock you, some attacks practically one-shot you, and certain attacks have to be jumped over instead of dodged, which the game does a terrible job of communicating. Some of the Force Tears are the perfect example of this game's idea of "fun": fight two Rancors at once, fight Oggdo Bogdo and Spawn of Oggdo at once, or do some obnoxious parkour challenge where you have to get from A to B without falling to your death. They're not fun. They're just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. Then there's the Force. You're supposed to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Jedi, yet your Force meter is so restrictive that you can barely have fun using your abilities. Compare that to Jedi Knight or The Force Unleashed, where actually using the Force is one of the best parts of the game. Exploration is even worse. Getting 100% of the collectibles was miserable because the level design constantly turns reaching something twenty metres away into an irritating puzzle of walls, ledges, tunnels, and hidden paths. It feels like the game is deliberately designed to waste your time. And the story isn't good enough to make up for any of this. It's mid. The characters are mid. It feels like another forgettable Disney Star Wars story that will leave about as much of an impression on me as Obi-Wan Kenobi or Ahsoka did. I enjoyed Fallen Order considerably more because you actually got to meet the crew and watch their relationships develop. Here, the group has already split up, most of the characters gave me very little reason to care about them, and even the supposedly emotional moments did nothing for me. I finished the game only a couple of months ago and already barely remember the plot. I put around 76 hours into this game, finished the campaign, and got 100% completion. I still hated it. I'm currently playing RealRTCW, a free mod on Steam, and I've had more fun in its first few hours than I had during dozens of hours of this tedious mess. Farewell, Jedi: Survivor. You won't be missed.
Right so theres two reasons i give this a negative review, even though i got all achievos and put in this many hours. Reason 1, the state this game launched in. Now after many, many and i mean many patches, and some new hardware on my end, i could run this on max with almost no problems. However that doesnt excuse its terrible launch. Reason 2, ea launcher, hate it. That is all. Now the positive things. This game proves a jedi academy style rpg would work quite well, if only ea didn't controll the reigns for star wars.......
The game is fun, but the performance is terrible. I cannot finish the game because it consistently crashes do to a "lack of VRAM". I have tried multiple fixes and none of them work, so if you do decide to try the game, be aware of the risk.
Verdict
✅ Recommended, but with serious reservations A good Star Wars souls-like adventure, but weaker than Fallen Order for me and technically much more frustrating.
My history with the game
I finished Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for the first time on Steam after 18.2 hours. I played it because I also finished Jedi: Fallen Order before, and I liked that game. Because of that, I was curious where the story of Cal Kestis would go next. Unfortunately, while I still enjoyed parts of Survivor, I think Fallen Order left a much stronger impression on me.
Quick signals
💸 Value: ✅ Worth it if you like Star Wars or souls-like games 🖥️ Requirements: ❌ Bad performance 🎨 Graphics: ✅ Good, when it runs well ⏱️ Length: ✅ 18.2 hours for my playthrough 📖 Story: ⚠️ Weak for Star Wars 🎮 Difficulty: ✅ Souls-like but manageable 🐛 Bugs / Performance: ❌ FPS drops and technical problems
What I liked
* The core gameplay is still fun. * Combat, exploration, platforming, Force powers, and lightsaber fighting work well enough. * If you like souls-like games, there is definitely something here for you. * As a Star Wars fan, I still enjoyed being in this universe again. * It is a decent story-focused action adventure if you want something around 18 hours long. * Some moments still have that Star Wars atmosphere.
What didn’t work for me
* The technical state was the biggest problem. * Even with DLSS enabled, I had low FPS and drastic FPS drops. * For a game of this scale, the performance really hurt the experience. * Story-wise, it felt weak to me, especially for a Star Wars game. * I expected more emotional impact, more memorable moments, and a stronger sense of adventure. * The game did not give me the same wow effect that Fallen Order had. * Some areas repeat too much. * At times, the whole game almost felt like one long tutorial instead of a true next step. * I do not really see myself replaying this one anytime soon.
Is it an endless game? How long to beat?
No, this is not an endless game. I finished it in 18.2 hours. If you focus more on exploration, side content, collectibles, and optional fights, it can take longer.
Who will love it
You will probably enjoy Jedi: Survivor if you like Star Wars, lightsaber combat, souls-like gameplay, exploration, platforming, and story-driven action games. If you can ignore the technical problems and weaker story, there is still a solid game here.
Replay value
For me, replay value is low. I finished it once, and I am glad I completed the story, but I do not feel a strong reason to return to it. Fallen Order was more memorable for me.
Final note
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is not a bad game. Gameplay-wise, it is still fun, and fans of Star Wars or souls-like action games can enjoy it. But technically, the game disappointed me a lot. The FPS drops were drastic even with DLSS, and the story felt surprisingly weak for Star Wars. I hope the third game, if it continues this series, improves everything: performance, story, world design, and overall impact. Recommended, but only if you can accept its problems.
This game barely has any checkpoints and you can't manually save. If you die you basically have to replay the past 80 years again which is too exhausting - so it's a no go for me

This looks like a fun game. Every day I hope for a patch that will let me play the damn thing.
