The story is excellent and the game ran flawlessly on my pc at 1080p. So ensure your pc is pretty good too and youll have a great time.
I avoided this title for quite a while because so many reviews spoke about how broken of a port this game is. I'm not entirely sure if it was just dumb luck, or if they fixed the problems, but it really ran quite well for me. There were a few visual bugs like nothing more than floating hair delivering dialogue, weird shadows, misaligned objects in character's hands, etc, and the only game breaking bug I encountered (couldn't attack) only happened once and was fixed with a restart. As for the game/story itself, I enjoyed many of the individual aspects and ideas of the game but it wasn't as tight narratively as the previous title. With a more open world, and a lack of strong character motivation for the early part of the game, I didn't feel quite as engaged with the story. I felt that the combat and encounter difficulty was pretty inconsistent, but I played on a harder difficulty so your milage may vary. Still, overall these are just minor gripes, it was pretty enjoyable, good to grab on a sale if you played and enjoyed the first game. I should also note that this game does require the EA launcher to run in the background, which can be a PITA.
super nice
poorly optimized, making my entire pc crash when starting the game
Insano.
yeah
Love it.
It's truly a shame that EA never gave this one the technical polish it deserves because from a gameplay and story perspective, Jedi Survivor outshines the original in every way. I held off playing this one for years due to the mixed reviews and while it is still rough around the edges, I'm really glad I finally gave it a shot.
The Good
The combat system carries over from Fallen Order so I won't delve much into that. Instead I want to focus on the open world. This is one of those gems in which the open world is just a joy to explore - not a repetitive slog. Metroidvania elements provide plenty of incentive to return to previously visited places while the puzzles offer a nice brain tickler to break up the combat. Another surprise for me this time around was the story...wow. I was not expecting it be so dark - and I LOVED it. I'm a casual Star Wars™ fan from the original hexalogy but I generally care nothing for all the modern extended lore. However, I tell ya this one had me on the edge of my seat. I won't say much more, but the story is most definitely worth your time.
The Bad
Unsurprisingly, the performance is of notable mention here. I'm on a fairly high-end rig (i7/RTX 5080) and I still had crashes and persistent framerate issues. The crashes were fixed with a few NVIDIA control panel tweaks but the framerates problems never went away. The good news is the poor framerate was isolated to one planet - Koboh. However, that is also the largest planet which hosts the brunt of the main story. It's just unoptimized - no two ways about it. But with that said, if you have a higher-end rig and the drive to do some DIY fine tuning, it's perfectly playable.
Conclusion
Although my expectations were very low to begin with, this was truly a stellar experience. It's most definitely a "wait for sale" game due to the performance issues. But putting those gripes aside, Respawn created a worthy sequel. I'm really looking forward to the third one which hopefully doesn't need a NASA supercomputer to run!
GOOD LUCK TRYNA GET THIS GAME TO RUN WITHOUT CRASHING, i played on realise on the ps5 and it is a good game but it just cannot run well at all.
