Hyper polished and filled with 20 official tracks at launch, a seamless open-world that blends exploration and racing, smooth netcode that handles high ping remarkably well, the ability to invite people for free via a browser link without even downloading the game, lobbies that are easy to manage and allow friends to drop-in/out at any time, full support for all single-player features while queueing for an online match, a custom track creator for extra content if you've somehow already grinded the game to a T within the first week, a tiny download size with no load times or stutters past the title screen, a banging soundtrack that feels like it came from Hideki Nakamura, and platforming that's somehow smoother and deeper than the original Speedrunners. Holy hell Second Stage Studio you're onto a gem with Sprint City, and I can't wait to see what you've got cooking up next.
10/10 would sprint again

I love this game - as an original SpeedRunners fan I loved the style and deep mechanics the game had to offer. This game, created by the developers of SpeedRunners, along with additional members of the team under a new studio, doesn't disappoint. Yes, you run, jump, swing, and use items. Sounds very similar to SpeedRunners on paper, yet movement and gamemodes are completely different. Some elements of SpeedRunners have been simplified, while new mechanics are just as deep and technical. Every day there is a new challenge, with a leaderboard. I spent a lot of hours in the demo optimising these runs as far as I could take them. And i plan to continue to do so. This game is probably about as addicting as it's predecessor and I love it for it.
UI is awful and the no Local multiplayer really hinder this game.
I feel like the open world is a step down in terms of UX? like running around to find levels isnt an interesting enough change compared to serving them all in a UI like the previous game. Its not fun to run around looking for levels, especially after the high highs of winning and losing in the races, i get that its supposed to be a bit more of a down period but, i cant help but feel like "what if this game had a level select" the Clockout mechanic feels like a step down too, winning gives you an inherent advantage and gives its losers no room for error, winning and losing stacks and compounds. its got less tension, doesnt feel good as a winner to be so ahead or as a loser to be so behind, being behind and knowing youll never make it, vs in Speedrunners where youre both fighting in a game of endurance, where it truly could be anyones game that scenario in this iteration of the game has the tension get paused every minute or so because someone crossed the finish line and now the race has to reset. Big fan of the web-based stuff in theory, though my friends complained about lag and low resolution even on good hardware. I do like the game i just think id recomend the previous game before recomending this one, Speedrunners feels like a more complete package, which i guess makes sense, this game is in early access! Will keep up with updates, interested in where this game goes!.
Amazing game! You can just hang around the city, find new kiosks and tiny, cute decoration details or run with your friends - and they can join, even if they don't have a game on Steam - via a link on web! Will play further!
No words can describe the blessing this game represents! While being a spiritual successor to SpeedRunners, the devs managed to totally reinvent the gameplay and gamefeel. Now, all surfaces are grappable, and you can throw grapples down to cut corners more efficiently. Rather than abruptly changing your speed angle, you will need to convert it smoothly by carefully planning your routes. Sprint-maniacs will enjoy grinding the time trial challenges, including the daily trials where players fight tooth and nail to get the world record. On the other hand, the 8-player PvP races bring chaos and are a perfect match for friends playing together. Remember the part about planning your routes? Forget it! Because it is now mayhem time! PS. This game includes Ginkos, which should be enough to convince you!
Very good game. You can grapple in all directions. Just like Speedrunners its quickly enjoyable. Overall I like it a lot. The only downside is you can't tackle
More of a casual version of speedrunners. Is cool for what it is, just not what I expected. DO NOT GO IN EXPECTING IT TO HAVE SIMILAR MECHANICS TO SPEEDRUNNERS. Would put mid as the review, just not my game.
This game is VEEEEEEEEEEEEERY good. Unlike another game... it doesn't simply try to copy Speedrunners and be a cheap sequel, but rather makes quite significant changes to the gameplay to create an experience that is familiar, yes, but still different enough that you can justify having both games installed on your PC I especially love the improvements made to the physics, while at first it may seem like a downgrade since there isn't as much advanced tech in this game compared to Speedrunners, you have to be much more aware of the physics and the environment and you can do a lot more cool things with them, as opposed the Speedrunners where at a certain point, the most efficient to complete a track is just to spam the grapple button. HOWEVER, while I think this game is very good and has a lot of potential, it is quite polished, the performance specifically, IS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TERRIBLE. One of my buddies, who plays on a somewhat weak PC, can't run the game without having to reduce the size of the window by a ton, and even then, he still gets a lot stutters. Even as somoene who plays on a pretty good PC, I still ocasionally get some micro stutters when I go fast, which is very annoying. There's absolutely no excuse as to why a game with this kind of visual style runs so bad on his PC, especially when he can run other games like Titanfall 2. This is a very good game, but if you have a pretty old PC, don't go into it thinking it'll run smoothly on it.
