This is a pretty cool TD game. Interesting levels and funny voice acting.
Stratejik savunma mekaniği ilginç olsa da, sunum ve optimizasyon açısından eksikleri çok belirgin. I've played better games for free that ran on Adobe Flash. To start with, the game mechanic that you must survive for an amount of time rather than complete an amount of waves is interesting, especially since there's a ranking system based around it. Survive for longer, gain a new medal. The game does also succeed in giving off an old-school Adobe Flash tower defense vibe, which is the whole reason I paid for it. I'm a sucker for tower defense, so I figured spending half a buck would be worth my time for a Steam tower defense game. Boy was I wrong. For starters, Spoids does not follow standard mechanical conventions of the genre. You cannot upgrade your towers, which causes a problem that I'll get into on the next paragraph. Additionally, this is the kind of tower defense game that chucks the same units at you every level. Each level gets a new one, but it just gets added to the pool with the others you saw before. This is fine in of itself, but this is also the kind of tower defense game where the units you're fighting do get stronger per wave. However, unlike in a game such as GemCraft, there is no way I know of to see how much health an enemy unit has, which means I have no idea what the scaling is. This hurts the game's strategy factor, because you will have trouble building strategies around enemy health and what you need to build in an emergency to finish off stragglers. But Spoids doesn't need you to create a strategy for a reason. Here's the problem that creating a tower defense game with no upgrades creates: This game requires you to spam, spam, spam a singular tower over and over in different clusters around the map to succeed. The game is only challenging when you attempt to divert your playstyle and try the other tower types, often because they are too flawed or gimmicky to be effective. A great example is the EMP Tower. EMP Towers are often a waste of time because they activate on a pulse, meaning when the game encourages you to use them to slow down the primary "sprinter" enemy type (announced as "Incoming Zoomers," which is funny every single time), it only stops them once before they blow right past the second pulse. This, as a result, requires you to spam a tower that is already not cost-efficient, when the better solution is to spam the more generic pulse and burst towers. You'll need to place something like a Radar Tower next to them to detect Faders, sure, but placing 60-70 of one tower type and only 5-6 of another is not enough variation to create a fun atmosphere for a tower defense game. Some other personal gripes include the game's lack of an ability to change keybinds, tower targeting being inaccurate and not always doing what you want it to do, the fact you can't bring towers you unlock into previous levels, and some really annoying voice acting. I'm really sorry to those who wanted to have their voices in this game, but they simply kill the vibe. I would rather just read text, but listening to these voices is mandatory because there is no option for subtitles during the gameplay. To be honest, I wouldn't be making this review if this was a game you'd find on Adobe Flash. It would be flawed, yes, and there would still be better options, but this game (which is 8 levels long by the way) is priced at $5. This is while Flashpoint is completely free. Not only can better be found by customers, but better can be done by developers, even if they are indie. The tower defense formula is not hard to get right. It has (had) already been mastered through several other games, even in 2017. I do hope we see another game from this developer, but unfortunately, I also cannot recommend that people purchase this game when there are simply better ones to play.
its okay, not much to say about the game, im not very good a td games though
