SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded

Overall, very positive! Important note: this is my first experience with Splitgate. I never played the old Splitgate game. With 15 hours of playtime, I can truly say this game is incredibly fun and addictive. For a free game, it is very complete and has a lot to offer: it features many modes, a firing range, a map creator, a battle royale, and more. The gun mechanics are solid and feel satisfying. In many team-based modes, you can still play your own style and be valuable to the team. This allows you to focus on your favorite way of playing an FPS, instead of being forced into a specific role or playstyle. The graphics are sleek and visually appealing. The music and audio atmosphere are great as well. It also contains humor, with funny commentators talking about the game and your performance, which I really like. It is a great arcade feel FPS with a solid pace. There is no waiting for character selections, looting, or anything else slowing the game down. It is perfect if you simply want to hop on and play a few matches for fun, without having to get through a bunch of different screens and selections first like in some other games. Quick play is a lot of fun with plenty of different modes to keep things interesting. The battle royale mode is action-packed and one of the best in terms of constant action and entertainment. There is no slow looting or waiting around when you die, everything runs smoothly and keeps the energy high. It is definitely not a snooze fest. I just wish more people played this fun FPS game. If you like games like Apex Legends, The Finals, Quake, or simply aim trainers like Aimlabs, you should really try this game. This game also functions perfectly as an aim trainer for other FPS games such as Apex Legends, The Finals, Call of Duty, Battlefield etc. Positive, good points: It runs very smooth! High frames and excellent performance, no stutters, lag or anything. You can go into the firing range while in the queue for a match. I love it when games do that. Great audio. You hear everything clearly and from the correct direction, including distinct footsteps. The 60 tick rate is great! (for example, Apex Legends sadly only has a 20 tick rate). The network performance in general is excellent, with no desync. The map design is solid. Custom crosshairs. Many modes and a lot of different match types, which is really cool. Room for improvement points: Missing a mark all as seen option in the menu for notifications. The playlist and mode selection could use a filter for things like custom loadouts being locked or unlocked. Proximity chat in the battle royale lobby is messy. It would be nice to have a setting to turn that off in the lobby but keep it on during the match. Solo and duo options for the battle royale mode.
