Spirit of the Ancient Forest

Nope, Just a matching game of piles, sometimes you have to sort, sometimes you don't sometimes you have to match 2, 3 or big to little, thats it. There's a story, supposedly, but it's a static picture and a line or two of text, All of which adds up to some rambling stupid story that's not worth following. The gameplay is repetitive, if you like matching games, this is your game. If you like adventure, point and clicks, exploration, anything that ISNT a matching game, look elsewhere.

Terribly repetitive even for the genre, made all the worse with overlapping clickboxes and overly strict time limits on anything but the easiest difficulty. The only "story" is delivered in sentence-sized chunks between levels.

This is the exact same game as his other one. It's garbage.

Spirit of the Ancient Forest is a hidden object game (HOG) that follows Sarah and her adventure. I played this some time ago and forgot to review it when I completed it, but it was so long and dull that I really didn't feel like taking time out of my day to see exactly what this game was about again. As you can see, it took quite awhile to beat. This game features 91 levels that don't deviate from most of the types of HOGs that you'll come across in this. The majority of them are HOG levels, but there are some are slider puzzles and some jigsaw puzzles, but that's really about it. From what I was able to tell about the story, it looked very similar to one of the other games this developer made, which makes for a lack of originality. The visuals follow a very similar look to the rest of the games this developer makes, which look okay, but nothing fantastic. The music gets quite repetitive over the long course of the game you play. Do not bother with this game. From what I remember, it looks like they ripped one of their own games and made it into a level-by-level kind of HOG game that makes for very boring gameplay throughout its lengthy game.

Exceedingly dull and boring game; a hard pass, don't even bother even if on sale. Not really a HOG; no traditional HOG scenes. Instead, it's full of jigsaw puzzles, sliding puzzles, match-2/3 puzzles, etc. Story is bland and forgettable, delivered in the form of still images and a couple of accompanying sentences. Hitboxes of some items in the Match-2/3 puzzles are unforgiving and wonky. Time limit given for certain scenes is very short, even on casual difficulty. You can play without the time limit bothering you on the easiest difficulty, but some of the puzzles are outright broken as objects cannot be moved, rendering the game literally unplayable.
