Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
About
Species: Unknown is a first-person survival horror game, playable in co-op with up to 4 players (private or public servers) or solo. You play as a mercenary sent aboard an abandoned spaceship. Your job? Execute high-risk contracts, make it out alive, and claim your reward. But keep in mind that you’re not alone. Something is hunting you…
Form a squad of up to 4 players to take on different contracts with escalating difficulty. Each mission plays differently depending on your objective, your teammates, the map and which of the 5 intelligent threats is stalking you. No one survives alone, but you can try.

Proximity Chat & Radio are available: distance matters, walls matter. Proximity Chat is bringing more tension, sometimes chaos, and unforgettable moments to your co-op sessions.

Every contract drops you into a different nightmare. Whether you're tasked with extracting a black box, capturing or eliminating an unknown threat, or even destroying the ship to prevent the creature from escaping… Each mission demands a specific strategy and none of them are easy.
The specimen is chosen procedurally from a growing roster of terrifying monsters. Each one comes with distinct behaviors, hunting patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. You’ll need to investigate your surroundings to gather vital clues and identify the threat in order to proceed smoothly (or not). Do your job and get rewarded, or die without anyone knowing.

Strategize as a group, make smart use of your tools that can turn the tide, if only for a moment:
Motion Tracker : Detect nearby movement and prepare for what's coming
Shield : Block deadly attacks and buy time for your team
Health Syringe : Heal yourself or allies in the heat of battle
Mini-Map : Navigate pitch-black corridors with real-time positional data
Guns won’t always save you. Some threats are too resistant or simply untouchable. But the right weapon, found at the right time, can help you push through or even take the creature down.

The higher the risk, the higher the reward. Completing contracts earns you credits you can use to:
Upgrade your gear
Buy new tools
Customize your appearance
Gather lore and build your own creature museum

Good just needs another map.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 18.86/day in the week to Jul 31 → 19.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Actually a CRAZY game for the price, its so good, fun,not too grindy and the ONLY thing that i dont like is that there is one map. Please devs, add new maps or maybe make the current HSS hawking bigger. get this game.
it's pretty fun with friends :3 me and my friends kind of described it as "phasmophobia but in space" lol, but instead of identifying ghosts and leaving, you identify aliens and/or robots and then either collect data, kill them, or capture them depending on the mission chosen. I am extremely bad at aiming and get lost so easily that the map doesn't help me personally LMAO, but that's just a me issue and I still have fun and so many silly moments on stream ♥ Here's the funniest moment so far that we've had when experiencing this specific species for the first time: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mJw0e45SlkY
Initial Thoughts: If you love games like Lethal Company, Phasmaphobia, and the Backrooms; you'll absolutely love this game! It brings the fun nervous energy of getting absolutely wrecked by a monster or watching your friends get executed in front of you while body blocking them by accident in doorway. Then just laughing all the way home in terror. They have good enemy variety in which they give you different ways in interacting with the said enemies that can be fun and change up the gameplay between missions that keep it really exciting not knowing what enemy you might have next. The amount of missions are limited to just 4 as of now in which you only start off being able to do 3 til you upgrade your ship to get the 4th one. First initial 3 being Extract Data, Destroy the Ship, or Kill the Specimen with the fourth being able to be completed after getting your ship upgrade to then start Capturing the Specimens. Pros - Really good enemy variety that offer different ways to play - Great scary atmosphere and ambience - Funny moments with friends - Amazing graphics to immerse you in Cons - Special Weapons: All specimens have weakness' to certain elements and the game offers you guns to injure said Specimen to be able to kill it but no amount which element it is they all do the same thing. Just shoot said element til it gets stunned then blast away with bullets. - No Jumping: I get it might be more work for either enemy AI or dealing with Collisions to disable jumping but think we miss out on fun Level Design that could incorporate jumping over gap hazards or other things. You can crouch but as of now on the 1 map it has you only ever need to use it on 1 part of the ship to go through vents and that's it. No point of using it really either. - Repetitiveness: 10 hours in now and have encountered all the monsters and done all the missions and find killing/capturing the monster to be the most fun and even then getting a little tiresome. Critique: This game can be really fun at times and think its starting off really well for a small independent team and can go far to be a successful long-term horror game like Dead by Daylight for example with some additions or updates to keep it interesting. Having different ways to kill monsters would be a great start rather than just shooting the same gun with just a different element type to weaken it would be cool. Maybe some monsters could still need a special gun to kill it but then other ones maybe could have you make a bomb with parts you have to find around the map to craft it and blow it up would be nice change, or use the environment in some way as a trap you build weaken in and then have it die that way could be really cool! Just something different to interact with the way monsters can be handled as I think Killing/Capturing specimens seem to really be the most fun part of this game even though the other game modes are a nice break off to do when you might just want to run in terror and hide or do something different. More environmental hazards you have to avoid would be fun to always keep you on edge to watch out for especially when your running away. The mechanic to find the right cells to open machinery door is cool and laboratory and think even more interesting problem solving logical puzzles to open areas in future maps would make it cool to solve and interact almost like old COD Zombies Easter Eggs where you have to find this and shoot that and boom presto teleport to here is exciting. Final Review: All in all the game is literally only $10 and drops to $8 or so on sale and you just can't go wrong for that price! It is an absolute blast with friends! They posted a roadmap showing they upcoming release plans with more new maps and specimens coming in the future which is promising. The super high positive reviews speaks for itself even if you only play for 10-20 hours you'll feel like you got your money's worth and I just hope for even bigger and better things for this game once 1.0 finally releases.
