Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 11 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
TL;DR
Underdeveloped, oversimplified, boring, bumped into a likely game breaking bug and frustrating things already in the first 20 minutes...
Details
I bought on 70% discount and I'm sorry to say that this is the legit price tag for the game. Maybe less but indeed the only reason I'm not refunding - and might play the game a little more, unsure about that, though. Very nice concept, the game looks nice in general, so it's fine, but there are a number of issues biting too hard. Most of them noted in the TL;DR above, but for details:

First thing first, the bug, without spoilers: After taking a mission (first one, food item), then talking to the quest giver, one can just give, hand over the quest item, which I thought was turning it in. I've seen only later as it blended a little to the background to me that there's another menu option, in different color (WHY?!) which is turning in the quest... Which now I couldn't as I lost the quest item. I think this is either game braking or would have lead to a mental grind-fest, but luckily ALT + F4 works around saving "progress", so I could have walked up again and this time, choose the right menu option and turn in the quest... Why quest items can be given away?!
Underdeveloped and oversimplifed are the two faces of the same thing: The play area is kinda small, music is repetitve and boring, the combat is dumb and far too simple, far too unfair at the same time (see later), effects, animations, everything basically is far too low budget, along with the actions: There are stashes, rats, things to open with other things, combat, random shop or action ("events") and basically, that's it.
Now, regarding combat. There are 3 actions to take: one-point thing. A stronger version of the same thing for 2 points, and a random 3rd action type. All this on a 5x3 or so grid, where the "front line" is where the enemy moved, so even that area is smaller as enemy line and beyond is somewhere the player cannot move... So it's punch. Get punched back. Punch. Get punched back. ZERO complexity, variability or anything... Aside that, my best initiative character (5, 3, 7: I picked the fastest, 7) NEVER comes first. Literally NEVER. Even rats outpace it... Big wtf... Aside that in this small and even limited play area, there are land mine like things placed. Now, aside these limit the play area further, it's also a random roll if the player starts the combat standing in a poison-puddle, for example... In other words, there's a tiny play area, forced into a corner of it, plus mines, and the enemy always comes first in a chain of punch -get punched cycle. Annoying and boring at the same time. In addition to it:
There's "Hunger" that should be increased for some reason (did they mean satiety?), Hope, which is a nice idea only cannot be increased, except at the cost of Hunger and only at certain points in the game (because of reasons) and Health - which cannot be increased at all. At least I couldn't find any item in the 1st hour (ish)
The Inventory is far too little, far too limited. It's full literally in the first 10 minutes of the game so one either starts throwing away things, and you don't know what worths what at this stage so GL&HF not tossing out some key item that's only available in limited numbers, or starts eating everything found in hope it free up enough inventory slots. It doesn't. If they meant this as a difficulty element, it's plain stupid as again, early in the game one doesn't know what is what so it's not a decision but a random roll what to throw away...
I took the "double loot" perk. Of course my inventory was full so after the combat, left behind some stuff... Now... In the cell area, I also found things and had no idea what to throw away so I was like, F-it, I open one of the boxes, maybe it gives something I already have and stacks... It was a Syrenge with hell knows what in it, but a contraband and in that very moment a guard got triggered, rushed to me and hit me in the face for 10HP - and I had 1... This was the point I said, OK, F this S, I'm out...

Could this game be fixed or beyond repair?
Well... Yes and no... First, for quality of life, they should double the inventory size, or even forget that thing and let ppl collect whatever they want in whatever amounts (maybe still with limited contraband slots), they should give means to heal and "hope", i.e. keep all stats high at a cost of items or whatever. Combat should be revamped completely... I guess it's a different scene anyway so can be replaced modularly. More music, better animations, more effects, more background animations, more everything could pimp things up... But this game was released in 2024, wasn't too successful for obvious reasons so... I don't think the devs will bother... I didn't bother with my failed (released on Steam) game either... It's just a tough lesson we learn and move on, in hope we can financially afford another game some time and it will be more successful...
A Decent But Somewhat Underwhelming Jailbreak
Space Prison blends survival game elements with turn-based RPG combat. This game is a fun and relatively short blend of these two genres, and certain questlines and easter eggs (such as the Steamy Games posters) show that the developers channeled some real passion into the project. Pretty much everything about this game was handled competently, but few of its parts are particularly gripping. There are also a lot of things that feel underdeveloped. The biggest choice you make in the early game is which of the two prison gangs to join as you build up your reputation. There is, however, little practical difference between them: their hideouts offer almost identical resources and crafting options. There was one notable exception: Gravity Fist allows you to make a fortified stun baton that trivializes virtually all the late game combat, and Hypernova doesn't have that crafting option. But otherwise, there's little practical difference between them. This made my second playthrough somewhat disappointing. Combat is interesting at first but gets repetitive. The combat arenas are all very small, so tactical options are somewhat limited. But since your stats are (except for the early game) far superior to most enemies, you're generally be fine just duking it out against the competition. Exploration is reasonably well-paced, although you will end up visiting the same places many times. I found the survival elements (that is, the Hope and Hunger meters) very easy to manage: they were almost always near the max. On that note, I will share one oddity. In my first playthrough (on Normal), I never died. Once that playthrough was done, I rolled immediately into Broken Collar mode (which appears identical to Normal except that you have one life), and I completed that run easily as well. I'm not saying this to brag: the game simply isn't that hard. It implements a reverse difficulty curve where almost all the challenge is in the first 6-10 fights where you have few allies and resources. By the end of the game, you're deploying gang members, rats, drones, and various combinations thereof to help out, and the enemies just don't hit hard enough to put up much resistance. As long as you craft suitable equipment and use the resources you find, you'll be fine. I will also note that there appear to be two bugged achievements. There is one for maxing out your cooking workbench and a similar one for the engineer's workbench, but I never found any workbenches by those names. I suspect they existed in an earlier version of the game and have since been removed. So how would I appraise the game overall? I think it could be a decent entry point for folks unfamiliar with these kind of turn-based RPGs, and there are some amusing questlines and such that make for a decent distraction. That said, it's hard to imagine most enjoying more than one playthrough in this game, which would last 12-15 hours. It's good enough to recommend, but I would only buy this on sale: it is not worth $20. Overall: 6.5 / 10
Great Game, there are a few QOL changes I would have liked such as a repair all companions armor, clearer highlights in the personal cell and ways to earn money easier than just selling carcasses but overall an enjoyable game. Roughly 30+ hours to 100%
Funny little game. Looks like took me about 24 hours to finish. Interesting sense of humour, inventory management/turn based strategy game. Took a bit to figure out where to get what crafting things and not many guides seem to be out there. Not too difficult to figure out. Might try and finish Broken Collar mode with the other gang... each prisoner does seem to have an interesting story. Finished normal mode at day 28. Also Inventory management becomes easier if you know that you can at least use your supporters and thugs you hire for life to keep the combat useable items like bandages, throwing knives, etc... kept all my rage shrooms, javelins, all other consumables on my supporters which you can mysteriously access almost anywhere except in like direct combat from the gangs screen. All the other things are a bit of a pain to manage but once you get to a certain stage you just ditch stuff you don't need anymore like rat claws, bones, etc that are mainly used for crafting low level items. You can "give" these items to other gang members for respect. I found once I have a full stack of a thing... giving away the rest helped get almost everyone to 100% respect.
Prison ou crous ?
Positif

gameplay

Localisation
