Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Jul 21 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Buggy, sloppy controls plus it feels like ripoff of another game called Steredenn. Still there's a second game which improves a bit.
I got this on sale for 77c and it entertained me for 45 minutes, playing through it's main mode and trying out its roguelike mode (roguelike mode is pretty junk actually). I beat the regular game mode on my first try, it is a very easy game. I did enjoy upgrading my ship between missions and the shooting and gameplay. Unfortunately this game feels more like a prototype in some ways, like it could use a lot more meat around the bones (no wonder it's so cheap) but I did enjoy blasting through it anyway.
Space Elite Force is yet another of literally hundreds of amateur 2D retro arcade bullet hell/shoot 'em ups infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This is an extremely derivative and uninspired 2D side scrolling shootwe from an old and dead genre, and it doesn't serve the interests of gamers for there to be yet another "me too" entry that looks like it was built from a template/demo engine and rushed onto Steam. This isn't offering anything that much newer attempts at reviving the genre like Sine More Ex are achieving, and the lacklustre technical implementation should be plenty of reason to give this a wide berth. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. To make matters worse, there's no mouse input, despite this being sold on PC as if it were a PC game. This is unacceptable and somewhat insulting to PC gamers. It's a good demonstration of the poor attitude the developer has towards PC gamers, and this attitude has resulted in yet another defect in this game. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Space Elite Force is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Rating: ★★★★ - Great Time Played: 1 hour Gameplay: • Simple movement with a couple of fire modes; short stages introduce one new idea at a time. • Early waves telegraph patterns, then combine them; bosses escalate with clear multi-phase tells. • A beginner-friendly system with generous hitboxes. Game rewards survival and consistency over risky aggression. Story\Dialogue: • Paper-thin “save the sector” setup that never interrupts practice time. • Brief between-stage screens double as breathers to process what you just learned. • No chatter or cutscenes, teaching happens through enemy design and pacing, not text. Graphics\Music: • Clean pixel art and distinct bullet colors keep threat reading effortless. • Big, readable boss telegraphs and minimal VFX reduce visual clutter for learners. • Upbeat chiptunes set a steady rhythm. Before you Play: • Start on Normal and focus on not getting hit; learn one weapon varient’s role per stage before swapping. • Park slightly left of center for reaction time; sweep only to dodge aimed shots or grab safe pickups. • Use Missiles the moment a pattern feels overwhelming or Mines in a distinct pattern to get maximum effect.
Guess I'm obligated to make this quick blurb since I just left a review for the sequel just now. To sum it up, it's solid, at least for maybe 1 or 2 playthroughs. But it's on the easy side, lacks replay value, and has an underwhelming upgrade tree (in part due to the game being over before you can meaningful fill up the upgrade tree). It also has some tinges of repetition and recycling of boss firing patterns, but nowhere near as much as the sequel did. If I could give this a neutral review, I could. The price is right (at least on sale), but there's so many better STG games out there in my opinion.
