Reading the negative reviews on this is hilarious. Here you have one of the greatest free programs available for VR, and yet some people still can't help but complain. It reminds me of someone who would go to an art gallery and criticize each painting about what THEY don't like about it. It must be rough being so negative, because Soundscape VR is incredible and only keeps getting better every time I log on to check out the new updates!
First song was a good experience, very trippy near the end. Overall a good program but would like the option to implement my own tracks. Thanks, keep up the good work!

Soundscape VR is a great way to have fun and relax during your downtime. I used it to help introduce a few of my friends to VR and they really enjoyed it. You can listen to whatever music you want and fly around the level shooting crazy particle effects that can bounce around the environment and destroy floating cubes. Additionally, the ingame environment has a lot of lights and effects that can provide a good amount of variety to the level and its atmosphere. It's a still a little rough around the edges, and I hope they add more VR menu options, but that hasn't impacted my experience. I'm looking forward to later updates that bring further polish to the game. If you find yourself spending time just relaxing and listening to music, you should definitely give this game a try.
These are great songs and a great experience. Definitely worth a download. I can finally throw glowsticks, but not be worried of the environmental repruscussions. The Griz song update definitely adds to the experience. I can't wait to see what's next.

I tried man I really tried. The performance is so absolutely abysmal even a seasoned VR player will get sick from all the reprojection even at lowest settings on a 2070. It's a cool experience, but unless you have dual 2080ti's stay away. Horribly optimized, if at all. Edit: September 24th, 2020. I tried to give Soundscape VR another go and guess what? The buttons don't even work now. You literally cannot do anything besides look around because the controls are 100% broken. You can't even go to the settings in game.
Soundscape VR is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. This is instead yet another VR exclusive Second Life ripoff. It's a lame attempt at making a "metaverse", a concept that seems incredibly appealing to developers who are simply out of ideas and can't come up with a compelling game design, so they try to use other players as a substitute. This invariably fails. And fail spectacularly hard this did... SteamDB shows this "metaverse" Second-Life ripoff only ever had 11 players on at the same time, and that only happened once, at launch. Understandably when gamers saw this isn't actually a game, they dropped it immediately and deleted it. After the failure at launch, the game only ever has 1-2 people log on every day, probably the developers themselves. Why did this fail so badly? Well, to start with, as I mentioned, it's not a game. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, and then repeats that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a software application being published in the wrong place. Publishing things which aren't games on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this software, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. It's a software application and as such has no merits as a video game for gamers. Because of this, I cannot recommend this non-game software as a game to gamers
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/e58mivqCgMg
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Soundscape VR is a game that has changed much over the years. When I first tried this app, it was a free demo that had in-game music that allowed you to view music visualizations to those in-game tracks that included stuff from Skrillex, among other well-known techno / dubstep / EDM music artists. It later went to a paid app and now it's a completely free to play game music visualizer. It also has a multiplayer component which I was unable to test out (no servers available to join). There are three different environments to explore in the single player. Keep in mind, this game is currently BYOM, Bring Your Own Music. You can play music on your PC or have the game play your music tracks from your PC music library (they must be on the same drive as the game). The three environments are really well done, especially for a free app. You will see different effects in each of the environments as the music plays. You can also use your motion controllers to add to the visual display. You can shoot lasers from your triggers or have a trail of different shapes if you press the A or X buttons. You can fly all around the environment and boost. You can also teleport if you want (why though?). There's all kind of different customizations you can make to those tools from the menu. There's also a mini-game where you can slice green floating balls with your fiery ninja swords. I didn't really see the point of that. There's some plans for multiplayer, apparently some curated music from artists, but I don't know what's happened to those plans or if that will ever be put into effect. I do know that this app has been updated many times over the years. I hope it gets further improved, but it's looking pretty good just as a free to play music visualizer for VR. Rate 7.5/10. Not quite as good as Vision (free music visualizer) and the multiplayer is nowhere near the success of TheWaveVR, but this free to play app is better than the majority of VR music visualizers (including paid apps).
