Hi, I'm Chaomoon! For 8 years (from 2016 to 2024), I developed Soul's Remnant alone as my passion project. Over years of hosting public playtests, the game developed a community of dedicated players, and grew to be something larger.
Now, working towards bigger and better versions of the game, the team has expanded, with Rajah joining the team since 2025 to help with future updates and development!

Community feedback has always been a crucial part of Soul's Remnant's development, so feel free to join our community and leave feedback for us, as we continuously work towards making the game even better!

Amazing pixel-art designs, fast and fun game mechanics, very much a choose-your-style character journey with a deeply customizable skill system. Farming mons and looting is great, 5 hours in and loving it!

Cute, cozy, and an over all good time even in its early access state! Going to start this off by saying if you're a fan of the 2-D platform MMOS like MapleStory, La Tale, wonderking, etc... etc... You're going to find yourself right at home here. I spent a lot of time... And I mean a LOT of time just grinding, hanging out, and having a good time. There's So much to be said about the game, but I'm going to try my best to list the positives, and the negatives (In my opinion) THE POSITIVES: - Honestly the game is charming. Just... Genuinely charming The different regions, and areas to explore along with a great soundtrack to go along with it. Just... *Chef's kiss* - The skill tree has SO MUCH BUILD POTENTIAL. Me personally. I'm a tank, and a healer first, so seeing all these supporting options made me so pleased compared to other games. - The addicting loop of building, and refining your gear to suit your needs using souls. You get hooked. I mean HOOKED. If you're a min-maxer. Oh yeah... This is for you. - Life skills~! We got those~! Cute little miningames while gathering, and a card based crafting system that has a good balance of RNG, and good payoffs for investing your time into it. - Variety of dungeon styles. There's the combat focused once, and even lifeskill focused ones. Make some friends. Yoink them into a profession, and work together. It's awesome. It might get a lil' reptitive if you do it too much, but still~ - No pay to win. You can't buy EXP coupons. You can't buy currency! (And you better not be thinkin' about RMT for that either. The mods will not have mercy on your soul. Pun intended.) - Devs are actively working to continue to fix, add, and improve the game, Smoosin' bugs whenever they can. THE NEGATIVES: (In truth... it's mainly nit-picks on my end.) - The holy Trinity is... Not really required. In truth Playing as a support is going to put you far behind Your DPS counterparts. Focus on having damage first, and supporting second. - Dungeon rewards are nice, but not as consistant as regular grinding. Both in terms of EXP, and finding loot, and souls. - For the moment. There's a bit of a lack of endgame. For most of you. This is a non-issue. There's a dungeon that is weekly, and it will reward you greatly for clearing it. (But you're going to be 70+, before you can manage) And then 4 bosses that you can find tickets for in order to fight, and claim rewards from. That's it. You are going to be grinding in one specific spot from level 78 up until 99. - Not all builds are created equal. This is true for any mmo to be fair. Most of the time you'll run into the same 1-2 builds, because it is currently the most effective for clearing mobs, and content, But as new skills start getting added, as well as balancing older skills. I'm sure it's going to make it more diverse in the future! FINAL THOUGHTS: It's a good game. There's a lot of love put into it. It's not perfect, but it's pretty dang good. So Come on down. Get whisked away for an adventure. Make some friends. Bring from friends. Make a guild. Climb the ranks. Yours truly. The Tankiest Tank that ever Tanked- Barrus.

meus parabéns, que jogaço, divertido, eu tava com muita saudades de MMO platformer 2D
TL;DR I hit lv 50 (of 99), game has promise but doesn't feel finished, gets sloggy, and gathering skills feel like the game is combative towards you. Skill/ability system is very freeform and interesting to play around with! Extremely good MMO for only one to a few people to have developed. Drop in and see if you like the vibe! --- I decided to hit level 50 before reviewing as it's a good way into the game so far. According to Steam, this took me about 51 hours (including a lot of AFK time). The game has some unique charms to it, but it definitely feels like it's still in beta still. There are some things that are definite pain points (like the CAPTCHA minigames, etc. every 10 minutes and for every gathering attempt are *reaaaallly* frustrating) and I definitely think a lot of maps and mob densities/locations need to be addressed before 1.0, but so far it's been fun and mostly enjoyable, with the exception of the last few levels (~46-50) where I've, essentially, been on the same map the entire time with the same extremely short mob route, only broken up by CAPTCHAs and the occasional beefcake giant mob spawn that takes 5 minutes to kill solo when I've been 1-2-shotting the regular mobs. Maybe this is the norm for Maple-alikes, but as I've never played any Maple-alikes before this I don't really have anything to compare to. As mentioned before, the life skills (mining, herbalism, fishing) feel a bit off. Fishing is mostly fine, it's basically the Stardew Valley minigame but horizontal and not explained. Mining and herbalism, however, have a sorta CAPTCHA/Dance Dance Revolution minigame that (to me!) feels awful to do (especially when you get "special" arrows, because I already struggle with dyslexia) and rewards you with what *feels* like a pittance of XP for the effort, especially when compared to combat XP. It feels like it would be fine if you pushed a button -> get item and xp, but since you gotta do the DDR minigame it feels like more items and xp should come from the effort, if that makes sense? It gives very RuneScape Classic vibes, like the game is being antagonistic towards gatherers. Skills-wise (abilities-wise?) I like how freeform it all is, and it kind of reminds me of OG FlyFF from like 2007 where you unlock skills and level them up by using them. It was especially interesting to experiment with the "macro" system, where you build a set of skills that get used consecutively with one button press. I will say that spammy skills are a bit... annoying? to listen to the same short stock SFX 3 times per second for half an hour or longer (Divine Thorn is a really rough example, I ended up hearing it everywhere, like the Tetris theme). I ended up turning off game music after about 20 hours or so, and eventually decided to just turn off audio completely. The game does seem to take great umbrage with you going AFK for even a few seconds. The number of times my toggle-on buff abilities were toggled off because I tabbed over to my second monitor to reply to messages or deal with something else for a few seconds really irritated me. There are also the aforementioned CAPTCHA things every 10 minutes or so, and if you stay still casting abilities for like 30 seconds (not 100% sure on the timeframe here) the game gets real upset at you and makes your abilities do nothing except cost mana. I also wish that the guild unlocks were passive buffs rather than paid buffs with a timer? But that's probably just a me thing. They just feel mostly inconsequential, and those kinds of things make more sense to me as passive benefits rather than paid. Anyway, I'm probably mostly done for now. I'll keep up with updates and see how the game progresses.

AMAZING GAME!!! ВЕЛИКОЛЕПНАЯ ИГРА!!! MARAVILLOSO JUEGO!!!
Crafting is fun, pve is fun. Lots of stuff to discover. Most negative reviews are because of skill issue...
if you're looking for the 2000s 2D sidescroller MMORPG experience in 2026, then this is the game for you. this scratches the pre-big bang MapleStory and LaTale itch, but offers you even more freedom with a classless skill system, giving it a dash of an ARPG / PoE-like feel as well. the world is full of mystery and intrigue, as well as whimsical and unique NPCs-- the art and music here are so masterfully crafted for such a small team (2 people!!!) that i still can't believe it's all free. Sage and Rajah have done a wonderful job building such an impressive game for just two people behind it. what makes this game unlike any modern game out there now is that they are actively receptive and willing to listen to feedback from all of their players. i've never seen any dev team implement patches and bug fixes as soon as they do-- which i feel like is a dwindling rarity in gaming nowadays. i've had over 150+ hours of play testing this game, after finding out about this gem this April-- and my only regret about this game is that i didn't find out about it earlier. i'm still finding new things to discover, and i'm excitedly looking forward to even more. if you're an MMORPG veteran or just a curious, casual gamer who wants a taste of the 2D sidescroller genre, i cannot recommend this game enough.
