Soul's Remnant

The core gameplay is really good for early access. Unfortunately there are many issues with the game. They don't know how to handle bots, don't know how to fix bugs, create new bugs in the process, don't listen to player feedback and the worst of all, recently they "hired" a bunch of people to their ingame moderator team (mostly based on who pays them the most money on Patreon) and those ingame moderators just don't know what they are doing. They will suspect you for botting without any reason and disrupt your gameplay, making you lose valueable resources in the process. It doesn't even matter that you are sitting on their discord server every minute you play this game.

This is it. This is the game for those wishing to relive the mid 2000s MMO experience. I joined this community roughly a year and a half ago after finding about it on Reddit, and every single playtest has been a improvement over the other. Sage and Rajah are extremely passionate about the game and it shows. I'll list what I like and dislike about the game : PROS : > Unique aesthetic (gives Celeste vibes); > Smooth gameplay; > Rewarding game loop; > Killer soundtrack; > Active economy; > No P2W (even though some will debate, I do think the cash shop is extremely fair - no power upgrade available); > Community is amazing CONS : > Griefing in lower level maps due to skill progression requiring basic materials; > Some performance issues on more crowded maps IMO, this is the best free-to-play game to be released in the last two decades. 10 years in development really did this game a favor, as it is as polished as it can get. The launch went smooth as butter and the player retention over the first few days has been great. Side note, but you never ever see a MMORPG with positive reviews at launch, so if that's not a sign to join right now, then I don't know what is.

You have to solve a captcha in game every 5-10 minutes or so or you no longer gain xp or drops. No that's not a joke, solving captcha's is a core game mechanic.

25$ subscription with a fomo monthly bonus item (recurring i think, atleast.), 20$ for a set of cosmetics, and multiple convenience upgrades for roughly 5$ each lol
