Hi, I'm Chaomoon! For 8 years (from 2016 to 2024), I developed Soul's Remnant alone as my passion project. Over years of hosting public playtests, the game developed a community of dedicated players, and grew to be something larger.
Now, working towards bigger and better versions of the game, the team has expanded, with Rajah joining the team since 2025 to help with future updates and development!

Community feedback has always been a crucial part of Soul's Remnant's development, so feel free to join our community and leave feedback for us, as we continuously work towards making the game even better!

I didnt care for the side scrolling aspect and thats a large part of the game, the graphics leave something to be desired as its a cluster to find things sometimes. Platforming also, jumping all over not for me.
Really enjoyable !
rips off Maplestory pretty hard. some of the mobs sounds effects even sound similar. They copied runs, some maps look almost identical in layout. not sure on how i feel about it so far, ill keep it positive till i get further play.

I like this game. Expected to dump just a few hours into it, but ended up spending much more. Make no mistake: this is a grinding game. I have never played MapleStory, but it seems there are plenty of parallels. Walking around in 2D platforms, exploding countless mobs with a variety of builds for EXP/money and playing some minigames to level up gathering/crafting professions for good gear. There's a clear progression path, but it *is* at it's core a game about killing mobs all day. The good: 1) Right out of the gate, game gets pretty much all of the basics right: Game feel, skill impact, core gameplay loop, basic social features. 2) Ironman mode pretty much constrains the base game design to be, in some way or another, fully self sufficient. 3) Sprite work is charming, and a clear artistic identity is vital to an MMO. It sets the overall game tone very quickly. 4) For all intents and purposes, so far, there is zero pay to win involved in it's cash shop systems. Though you are heavily influenced to a couple of items on it, it really isn't a big deal to go without them. 5) It's gathering and crafting system breaks down grinding sessions at a player's leisure, avoiding burnout from both gameplay fronts. At the same time, it's also fine to ignore them, if you'd rather fund your gear some other way. The bad: 1) As a free game, it's been struggling with bots. I assume a lot of negative reviews here are botters as well. As a result, some anti-bot measures can interfere with legit gameplay. This is an issue for some and can potentially become worse. 2) Though mitigated in several ways, "kill-stealing" is legal and you can technically be harassed by it at any time. You're also currently unable to ignore people. 3) As an early access game, it has a lot of little things, from UI/UX to balancing that can be mildly annoying. No real overarching plot if you care about that, and a good but ultimately small monster variety with some recolors here and there. I expect most of those to be addressed in a few months. 4) I'm personally not huge into giving too much freedom in character customization, specially when it allows players to become walking lighthouses. The cash shop items are thus 80% irrelevant to me. Overall, I think this game is a gem and worth a shot. I like it's gameplay, I like it's community and I like that it's being actively iterated with in ways that benefit an early access structure. If you like grinding games and 2D platforms, please do give it a shot. To play it expecting not to kill mobs over and over would be like wanting to play a MOBA without player friction.
reminds me of maplestory. without the crappy devs. :) fun little game esp if you had friends to run through it together i bet.
I had no expectations, but I've been addicted to this blend of oldschool presentation with newschool QoL updates. It's got Runescape's skilling and slow progression. It's got FFXIV's life skills and allows for as much a focus on crafting/gathering as questing or slaying monsters. I like the skill that let's me farm resources without taking monster aggro, especially. Visually, it's presented like Maplestory but with it's own style rather than being a direct inspiration. The game definitely has some minor growing pains, but I've had so much fun already.
