Hi, I'm Chaomoon! For 8 years (from 2016 to 2024), I developed Soul's Remnant alone as my passion project. Over years of hosting public playtests, the game developed a community of dedicated players, and grew to be something larger.
Now, working towards bigger and better versions of the game, the team has expanded, with Rajah joining the team since 2025 to help with future updates and development!

Community feedback has always been a crucial part of Soul's Remnant's development, so feel free to join our community and leave feedback for us, as we continuously work towards making the game even better!

It’s right that the devs prohibit any kind of automation or third-party programs from automating gameplay. However, players are apparently being punished even for simply standing in an outdoor area with toggle skills active. There are also negative reviews mentioning that players were punished for using the in-game macro system to fight. It’s honestly quite absurd. The following is the response I received after opening a support ticket and asking about it on the official Discord server. All I can say is that the way the administrators think is really bizarre. ------------------------------------------- pjr8 2026年8月17日 上午10:22 It looks like you were caught violating our "Play Fair" rule: in-game-conduct/ - Don't use bots, macros, auto-clickers, scripts, or anything else that plays for you or generates input you didn't make yourself. Every action your character takes has to come from you, at the moment it happens. - Don't use modified clients, memory editors, packet manipulation, or any other tool or method that gives an unfair advantage. - Don't work around inactivity, AFK, or session-timeout checks, or make it look like you're playing when you aren't. - Don't tamper with, disable, spoof, or get around our anti-cheat, moderation, or security measures. - Don't abuse bugs or exploits. Report them to us instead. - Don't engage in real-money trading (RMT): buying, selling, or trading accounts, characters, items, or currency for real-world value. Overlays like Steam's or Discord's, streaming and recording software, and accessibility tools are all fine — as long as they don't play the game for you or break these rules in some other way. Upon review, we have determined you were fairly banned. You will need to wait out your ban duration. If you break this policy again upon your return, ban will be longer or permanent. In this case, I personally banned you. You must be actively playing, and were unresponsive for multiple minutes Using a toggleable skill to kill mobs is not allowed while not actively playing (edited) ---------------------------------------------------------- Even if you apply the third rule to justify the punishment, it still seems completely unreasonable. If a player is not performing any actions, that means they are not using any BOT, MACRO, or AUTO-CLICKER, and they may simply not even be looking at the game screen. So does this mean that simply leaving your character in an outdoor area will result in punishment, even when using completely legitimate in-game mechanics. Thanks a lot, devs.

The devs ban people just for holding left click. They call this "Botting" however most players are simply grinding with in-game macro setups. The game provides these macros, and then bans for using them. Don't get too invested as your account can and will get randomly banned. The devs will then brag about banning hundreds of players per day in their discord.
Cannot recommend this game. They have a built in macro system to allow you to assign all of your abilities to a single click or keyboard function, and then actively hunt and ban people that use this feature while watching netflix/youtube or video chatting with friends in discord. Their "bot detection" is player reports followed by a "mod" typing to you in game. If you don't respond to the "mod" in an appropriate amount of time deemed by them, you're banned. Doesn't matter if you have chat turned off, doesn't matter anything. Steer clear.
PROs: A fun little mmorpg, lots of people, good market, lots of crafting available, guilds, easy to jump into. Cons: It's very shallow, and is set up in a way I don't see it getting much more depth. Those skills you got set up and your little combo you think is fun? You'll be using that until you're done with the game, there's no classes or new things to unlock. The skill tree at its heart is a few basic attacks that trigger a few extra attacks. You very quickly unlock those, and then there's nothing else. Levels quickly start to take up to an hour in the 30's and you'll be spamming that same combo you like until you finish the game. Botting/macroing already seems to be rampant. The game is not pay to win, but there is a staggering amount of things you can pay for immediately that help you. There's 2 pay per month items that increase your loot range, and a lot of 'inventory expansion' coupons of all different types. The fashion cosmetics are a joke, with eyes that are literally 2 pixels costing money. Want to color those 2 pixels? That's another purchase. Conclusion: The game is fun for a day or so, but you'll quickly get bored. It kind of seems like a very basic mmorpg cash grab, I'd look into it after a few months to see if there's any content updates and maybe the introduction of classes or some sort of major skill revamp.
A Love Letter Turned into a Cry of Pain – My Soul’s Remnant Nightmare I never thought I would be writing this. I never thought that the game I woke up for, the game I breathed and dreamed about, would break me like this. Let me start with the truth: I loved Soul’s Remnant. I loved it with every fiber of my tired, pixel-staring eyes. From the very first hour of early access, I was there. Ten, sometimes twelve hours a day – grinding, exploring, dying, respawning, and grinding again. I didn’t play for fame or leaderboards. I played because this world felt alive, because the two developers poured a decade of their hearts into it, and I wanted to be part of that story. But there was a whisper in the community – a dark, creeping rumor that I chose to ignore. In the group chats, veteran players would warn each other: “Don’t go past 90. The ban hammer waits for you.” I scoffed at them. I thought they were sore losers, or maybe they used macros and got caught. I told myself, “I play fair. I have nothing to fear.” How naive I was. Yesterday, I hit level 94. My heart soared – I was so close to maxing out my skill tree, so close to that shiny achievement I had chased for hundreds of hours. I was in the middle of a dungeon, fighting a boss I’d been farming for a rare drop, when the screen froze. A red warning flashed. Then – disconnected from server. My hands trembled as I tried to reconnect. I typed my password, hit Enter, and… “Account permanently suspended.” Just like that. No warning. No reason. No mercy. I sat there, staring at that cold, heartless message for what felt like an eternity. My mind raced – did I do something wrong? Was it a glitch? Did someone hack me? I rushed to the support page, my fingers shaking, and poured my soul into a ticket. I explained everything – my playtime, my honesty, my love for the game. I begged for a human to look at my case. You know what came back? A soulless, automated robot reply – the same generic copy-paste garbage that everyone else gets. “Your account has been flagged for abnormal activity. This decision is final.” No details. No appeal. No human being on the other side of the screen. And then it hit me – those veterans in the group chat were right. All of them. Every single one of those level-90+ players who disappeared one by one, who posted their farewell messages and got mocked by newbies… they were telling the truth. I just didn’t want to believe it. I thought I was special. I thought my dedication would protect me. But dedication means nothing to an algorithm. Loyalty means nothing to a bot. Why does this happen? Why does reaching level 90 suddenly paint a target on your back? Is it because the devs assume anyone who plays that much must be cheating? Is it because their anti-cheat is so broken that it flags time invested as a crime? Or is it simpler – that they don’t want players to reach the endgame, because they can’t balance it, or they’re afraid of what we might find? I don’t know the answer. And that’s what kills me the most – the silence. The utter, deafening silence from the people who built this world. I’m not a robot. I’m not a statistic. I’m a real person who gave up sleep, who skipped meals, who chose Soul’s Remnant over real-life plans because I genuinely believed in this project. And in return, I get treated like a piece of trash thrown out with the garbage. My level 94 character – my armor, my weapons, my carefully crafted build, my memories of every boss fight, every near-death escape, every laugh with random party members – all of it, erased in a single click. No appeal. No closure. Just a cold, digital death. I feel betrayed. Not angry – that came and went. Now there’s just this hollow ache in my chest, like losing a close friend who never even said goodbye. I can’t even bring myself to uninstall the game, because that would mean accepting that it’s over. But it is over. And the worst part? The developers probably don’t even know my name, don’t even care that I existed. If you ever read this – please, I beg you, look at your community. Look at the graveyard of loyal players who got banned for the crime of loving your game too much. We are not your enemies. We are the ones who kept your servers alive during those quiet early days. We are the ones who recommended your game to friends, who wrote positive reviews, who believed in your vision. And what do we get? A robotic “final decision.” I’m writing this not because I expect my account back – I know that’s hopeless. I’m writing this because the silence needs to be broken. New players deserve to know the truth before they invest hundreds of hours into a world that will discard them the moment they reach the top. So if you’re reading this and you’re just starting out – enjoy the journey, but don’t fall in love. Don’t reach level 90. Don’t play too much. Don’t be like me. Because when you finally reach that summit, the only thing waiting for you is a ban screen and a robot that doesn’t care if you cry. I’ll miss you, Soul’s Remnant. I’ll miss the person I was before this happened – the one who still believed that passion and fair play would be rewarded. Now I’m just another ghost in the graveyard of level 90s, another warning tale for the next generation. Goodbye, my pixel home. You broke me more than any boss ever could.
I am giving up on this game. I really loved playing it, but I randomly got banned last week. I put in a ban appeal, but got a blanket response with no information. I sent another inquiry to know at least what I did, and I have not been answered. I backed this game through patreon for a bit. And I've also put a hundred or two into it since launch to support it. Reading through other review tearing into people complaining, I have 0 bans on my steam account in 16 years other than this game.
I think this game had potential, and yes I did say "Had." Can it fix its problems? Sure! Will it? Eh, with the way it all seems to go... I doubt it. The game is the type of game where you grind on enemies for hours, to move to another room to grind for hours. To be clear, that's something I enjoy, it's nice and mindless... but that's just the thing, it's not here even though it's designed to be. To those who haven't played the game, let me paint a picture for you. There's a huge skill tree-like area that you can up and down at will, the more you use a certain type of skill (Melee, Magic, Ranged, and Faith/Holy). Some skills level up 2 different skills, and require 2 different skills at a certain level to unlock. So, like, some skills require 20 Strength, 20 Faith. The skill scales off of Strength + Faith too, usually, doing a chunk based on those stats. Lots of ways to mix and match. Then, there's an area where you can set them to "Combos" which are just macros. There's 6 slots, and then an icon at the end. When you put that icon on your bar, it presses every bar in that "Combo" so it's just a macro. Want a Macro to be longer? Add at the end of a macro another macro, and then you can make 1 macro into 2 macro'd skills for 11 skills, or 16 skills. There's... I think 6 combos? 6 combos each with 6 slots? So, the game seems very automated, right? Click this button and you'll do this skill and this skill and this skill and this skill and this skill and- WRONG. WRONG GET BANNED LOSER. WRONG. If you try to play the game, you'll notice if you stand still (You know, something you might like to do when you're a ranged character hitting enemies on the edge of a platform because this game has maple-story like gameplay) for more than, and I am not joking, about 15-20 seconds (give or take, I did not count) you will stop doing damage with your skills. So you have to constantly move. Constantly. If you stop moving, if you sit in one spot and shoot an area down? MOVE LOSER YOU'RE AFK MOVE MOVE MOVE MOVE STOP AFK FARMING MOVE MOVE MOVE MOVE Every 10 minutes, a black crystal comes up with a captcha, it's not too hard or nothing and it gives you 'a buff' but we all know how "Rested" in wow was a mind trick which was the same as "Fatigued" just framed differently to trick you into loving it. So you gotta stop what you're doing, rush to the crystal, do the captcha while taking damage and then go back to farming. Every 10 minutes, like clock work. This is happening on top of MOVEMOVEMOVEMOVE 15 SECONDS MOVEMOVEMOVEMOVE 15 SECONDS MOVEMOVEMOVEMOVE All of this? Is to stop botters. Has it stopped botters? No, so they keep making it worse. They keep making their GAME worse. The game was already a grindy game, now it feels like a clicker idle game that stops being idle if you stop clicking for 15 seconds. It used to be fun, it felt like an indie Maplestory, but I took a break for 2 weeks and the player count dropped and when I played the game I could FEEL why. Now, I did not get banned, so I can't tell you if the people going "I afk'd and got banned" are people who actually botted and are angry. I can say that the discord is full of brown nosing nitwits, but that's neither here nor there. The game feels like it punishes you for designing the way it was meant to be played because they can't figure out how to properly detect botters. This game feels like the personification of burning down your house because you saw a spider, and not knowing what went wrong and blaming it on everything else rather than yourself. I really hope this game gets an ego check, I really REALLY do, because otherwise? It's a dead game, and it's going to deserve the dirt people put on top of it as it's sunk down into the grave it dug itself.
The admin is super arrogant. After level 50, the game is just like picking cotton—totally repetitive and boring, an obedience test. Cheats and scripts are ignored, but regular players get banned.
這遊戲開發者會偷改機率跟技能,而且都不會公告,被玩家抓包就說玩家在霸凌他,DC裡面一堆騎士團在護航,跟私服沒兩樣建議別浪費錢再這遊戲上
❌ NOT RECOMMENDED — Great Game, Unhinged Community Management The game itself has potential, but the developer and Discord community management are honestly exhausting. In my experience, SAGE, the CEO, comes across as completely unhinged when dealing with criticism, while some Discord moderators seem like they have paper-thin skin. The smallest disagreement can apparently turn into a major offense. Apparently you're allowed to grind monsters for hours, but having the wrong opinion is where the real boss fight begins. Even talking about freedom in America can apparently get you in trouble. Criticism isn't harassment. Disagreement isn't toxicity. Players shouldn't have to walk on eggshells because moderators get offended over every little thing. Great game. Fragile egos. Terrible community management. Not Recommended.
