Following a poor experience in the third part of the game, due to poorly executed Winds of Time mechanic, the loss of the legendary sword bug, and difficulty finding the last (air) serpent, I had finally lost interest in checking everything in the game and just wanted to make sure that I could still finish the game with my unintentional “NBAS” save from the previous game. Thankfully, the fourth part of the game, much like the first part, didn’t allow the player to get stuck much (which was the case in both the second and third parts of the game). But unfortunately, the fourth game takes away your ability to rewind after a certain point. I eventually decided to tweak the game files to re-enable rewinding inside the castle and was able to smoothly rush to the Throben Doors, where I had a bit of difficulty especially because of the wording – the game pretends you failed (with its wording) even when you successfully break the locks (lol), so just go with it… Overall, despite a few hiccups in the second and particularly the third parts of the game, I very much enjoyed my time with the series and think it is a good digital adaptation.

Worst one of the bunch. Couldn't be bothered to finish it. Loved 1, 2 and 3... but this one is awful.
I cant help but say this ♥♥♥♥ sucks.
It has fine writing but taking away the rewind mechanic is the stupidest decision. A game that is premised on the player exploring on learning, by taking away the rewind mechanic and punishing the player with perma-death, it's just a baffling decision. So if you're up for redoing your entire run or just love a slog, this maybe for you, otherwise, I don't get what the devs were thinking on this one. It should've been a nice payoff for a long journey, instead, it's just trying to pull some dough really far apart and leaves a bad taste on what should be a strong finish.
I enjoyed the previous versions but this is the worst one. It's easy to get stuck, resources impossible to get at times, and there are occasions it feels like you get punished arbitrarily. But the most frustrating thing is the designers decision to prevent backtracking making the game an unpleasant exercise in trial and error that kills all enthusiasm and interest. Pity really.
Liked the other books much better - the whole constantly get stuck mechanic isn't the greatest
eat at the food-sellers multiple times in a run and find the outrageous amount of spelling mistakes until you loop back to 'the food is disgusting'. There's no way that section was written by someone who doesn't have some sort of debilitating mental illness (autism, aspergers, low iq etc.)
You cant rewind in this installment, and for A LOT OF PPL, it makes it impossible to play. I havnt even played it because of that, which is kind of stupid since i played the other three books to its fullest (found the best possible outcomes). Please dont support this franchise (and the ego developers from INKLE)
久しぶりにやったけど、とても満足。 下手なRPGよりはまった。こういうゲームは もう出てこないんだろうなと思う。
