Snoopy & The Great Mystery Club

You will enjoy Snoopy and The Great Mystery Club if you can accept it for what it is: an easy game with a clear focus on young players, but a pretty enjoyable adventure title and a lovely experience for Peanuts fans nonetheless. The art direction was clearly inspired by the Peanuts movie, and it translates rather well for the most part. I also noticed that it ran a lot better than some other Gamemill offerings, including on the Steam Deck. Snoopy is a pretty linear title. Outside of some side objectives of finding special collectibles or the option to replay minigames encountered in the story, the gameplay loop is pretty straightforward: a character will have something you need, and you have to help them to progress: usually by finding an object around town or playing a particilar minigame. Aside from Snoopy himself, dialogue is read out loud via voice acting. The game starts to get more interesting as you unlock more costumes, and are able to explore more of the town. If you somehow get stuck in this incredibly easy game, Linus is avaliable to give you hints. The main thing Snoopy has going against it is it's hefty price tag. It is base priced at 50$, and they offer an additional DLC for 20$. Similar to Trolls Remix Rescue, this is another game clearly targeted towards younger players that sells overpriced DLC for what should be in-game content, and both games are published by Gamemill. While Snoopy's DLC does provide extra gameplay value where Trolls was purely cosmetic, I couldn't help but feel like it was content being cut and repackaged as DLC. Thankfully this game goes on sale often, so at the very least you can get it at a bargain.

With all the solid open world action adventures available to kids these days (Lil Gator Game, Little Kitty Big City, and Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley), I wouldn’t prioritize this game unless you love Snoopy or the Peanuts movies/specials. And personally I can’t bring myself to give Snoopy a not recommended. The mystery theming is fun, but it’s really just an end cap for walking around and doing busy work. The game is absolutely aware of this aspect and often points it out once Lucy joins your party. Minigames function well and often do a solid job of augmenting the story.
