Good game, you can stealth quietly through the entire mission or just go kaboom all the way from the beginning to the end, it's your choice.

Really enjoying this game, I've watched SLORGS on YouTube play this, and he has a lot of fun, and yes, it is a lot of fun. I can absolutely agree! I'm using an Apple Mac Mini, and Elite Sniper 5 doesn't come with a native Mac app. I used software called "crossover" to help, and it works beautifully. I don't have a lot of mobile internet connection at my house, one and two bars, but this game has been seamless running on my Mac Moni vis my mobile data (unlimited), with no hiccups whatsoever. It's amazing! I did have a problem with the mouse though... I normally use a separate trackpad and I've also got an Apple mouse. Neither works. It would only allow me to shoot, but not aim - a real problem for a sniper game! But as luck had it, I had an old Windows style mouse around, with the two separate left and right clicks with the scroll wheel, and that works beautifully. Definitely five stars!!!

Sniper Elite 5 is, ultimately, a fine game. Your character controls like a drunkard sometimes, and will refuse to peek around corners seemingly at random, but these are things many games struggle with at times and is entirely forgivable. This is my first time playing a game of the Sniper Elite series, and I would have expected the fifth entry of the series to understand its identity and have refined its gameplay, but unfortunately I don't think Sniper Elite 5 fully understands what it wants to be. As a first time player of the series, the namesake, of course being 'Sniper' Elite, you would assume the gameplay to revolve around picking off enemies from a far distance as best you can without being noticed, before going in and grabbing whatever documentation the story sends you in for, but that just isn't the case. You're more often than not bringing your suppressed weapon of choice into close quarters hitman-esque combat, until you either pick everyone off and complete whatever objective, or get spotted and have to fight or fall back. The gameplay lends itself extremely well to going in Call of Duty style guns blazing, or alternatively lurking around like you're, again, playing hitman, so there's no shortage of ways to play the game! That being said, you almost never actually get to use your sniper. The situations in which your sniper is the most viable weapon available to you per mission can usually be counted on one hand, and I think that very heavily holds this game back for me. The sound masking objects (Generators, Vehicles) are few and very far between and are usually placed in the middle of a pack of enemies, meaning to use the Sound Masker to enable your sniper, you have to first kill all the enemies you'd want to take out using it... That, for me, holds this game back heavily. Overall? I think this is a wonderful game that's very enjoyable to play, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a genuinely challenging stealth experience! But, if you're looking for sniper gameplay, maybe look elsewhere. I'd give the game a solid 7/10, and hope the Sniper Elite team reflects for future installments!
