Smells Like Burnt Rubber

This is the best 2D racing game that I have played. OK, I've only got a few, but that is because good 2D games are difficult to find. The graphics and effects are excellent, as so are the vehicle physics. Am I right in thinking the developer is a one-man indie? If so, hats off to you dude. I'll be actively following future developments and will support this game for the potential it has.

Bestes Rennspiel seit langem! Richtig gutes Spiel, was vor allem mit Freunden im online Rennen oder Splitscreen daheim Spaß macht. Die Powerups haben Mario Kart vibes, sind aber auch etwas für die Strategie Spieler ;) Schon nach der ersten Runde ist man süchtig und möchte sein Auto bis zum Maximum Tunen und Customizen. Die vielen abwechslungsreichen und spannenden Maps sind sowohl was für Anfänger als auch für Profis und ich bin schon gespannt, was in Zukunft noch alles kommen wird :)

This game rocks, especially when you want to have some fun with your friends! + The graphics are great and the game has its own style which is very appealing + Huge selection of cars with a lot of options to suit your own playstyle. You can for example choose between cars that are easier to steer but slower or cars that are faster but harder to control and much more. + Well rounded track collection that offers challenges for the beginner as well as the expert + Split screen support that ensures a fun night with friends and beverages + Great soundtrack! Overall I would really recomment this game, it is a lot of fun, offers a lot of features and follows in the spirit of game classics like Bleifuss Fun or Micro Machines.

TLDR: Quick setup, fast races and lots of variation in a Mario-Kart-style arcade racer is the short summary for Smells like Burnt Rubber. The cherry of top? The versatility of options on how to compete with friends and foreigners alike. Local couch coop, online matchmaking and invite system or the connection of two couch coop sessions via internet are possible. However, dont worry you dont have to play against humans if you dont want to, you can also play versus multiple tiers of bots. So what is stopping [b] you [/b] from joining the fun? I was looking for a cool arcade top down racer. This is a nice find ! A sweet mix between Micro Machines, Super Off Road and Mario Kart. Great look and feel. Soundtrack is cool too. Runs great on the Deck Oled. I do not regret one bit 🥰

I really wanted to like this game. In theory, this is the perfect game for me and my girlfriend. However, it felt... Over engineered? Almost as if there was too much going on in the game and if the developer would have stopped half way through then the game would've been awesome. We'd take the wrong turn and get lost. Think of it like the game is missing the "bowling retaining walls". Let's face it, most racing games has them. We didn't like the health system at all and wished that it wasn't there. All in all, we spent more time being confused than enjoying the game. I do realize we are drawn to simpler games and that's on us. The game itself is well made but if you're more of the casual player I'd check out other titles. Sorry, but this game just wasn't for us.
