what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a game (as expected for silent hill LOL)
I can't even think of where to begin. Let me start with this: I loved this game so much that I played through it at least 10 different times, and then one more time to go back and play it from the beginning to end for one final collectibles achievement.
the character writing, the symbolism, the graphics.... it was all breathtaking. I absolutely loved the use of the use of spiderlilies and loved their incorporation into the horror of it all alongside it!!! The story was absolutely heartwrenching and, while I didn't understand some of the elements of it, I know with a video essay or two i'd be head in hands over how in-depth this story really does go. From what I did grasp however, Silent Hill F is a bone-chilling story about womanhood and choice and societal expectation (at the bare minimum), and every single tone of the story conveyed all three of those things with pinpoint accuracy. It got me attached, it made me sad, it put a fist around my heart and started squeezing not even an hour into the game. It resonated! I loved the characters, and I loved the designs for the enemies (so creepy, so cool) and every single ounce of thought put into this just blew me away the more of it I got through!!!
Loved the boss designs. Seriously so much (fog monster my beloved). There's so much to this game that truly only a 3-5 hour video essay could go through all of it and even then I would not be surprised if it didn't even brush the surface. The combat was a bit tricky to get used to at first, but when I found my loadout and I got a handle on things, it went as smooth as butter for the rest of the game :-)
