Sideway™ New York

I bought this game back in 2013 as an impulse buy. I never played it... until now, anyway. I forgot it existed for a couple years, mostly because I was always busy playing Guild Wars 2 or some new release game. It's now 2017. I tried to play it yesterday and it kept giving me PhysX errors. Dammit, PhysX. Okay, I don't blame this game for my PhysX woes, but PhysX never seems to install correctly with the games which require it. Anyway, I solved the PhysX errors by reinstalling the latest PhysX driver software. Then, it played without any further problems. The game has a unique visual style that I've only seen implemented well a couple times, once here and once in A Link Between Worlds. I'm sure someone wants to mention Vexx or Mario or something of that nature, but in those games, it's always a small part of the game; not the whole game's style. Anyway, I enjoy the paintings-on-walls visual style, and in this game, it actually serves to add some explorative elements to the platformer gameplay mechanic. For example, gravity can be switched depending on how you enter a wall. It doesn't really matter to the overall experience, though. It's still a mostly linear platformer with small branching paths. For $9.99, it's kinda pricey, but if you like the art style or the move-inside-walls mechanic, I recommend getting it.

Very inetersting platformer, 3D but you live in a 2D world. This gimmick reminds me one of the lst Zeldas which had this mechanics. At times you are upside down, sideways, and you still see the 3D world like cars moving by. Very cool

Co říct k Sideway? Je to hopsačka jak se patří. I kydž je ve 2D tak krásně využívá 3D prostoru, ve kterém je dělaná. Stylizace hry je pouliční, tagy, grafity, soundtrack (hip-hop). A to je přesně směs věcí, která děla Sideway zajímavou hrou. I obtížnost není úplně dětinská, stačí dvě rány od nepřátel a je tu zase záchytný bod. Děj hry je dán lehce a přece, zachránit přítelkyni. Jako Mario svojí princeznu :-) Verdikt: Skvělý nápad na hru, kdy 2D je 3D a naopak. 75% Pokud si chcete zkusit netradiční hopsačku a nevadí Vám hip hop, směle do toho! Hráno v roce 2012

I don't recommend this game

Good premise, but the game runs like trash. Horrible Framerate.

Very weak platformer, you can find free ones that are much better than this.

this game is hit and miss, bought it yeeeeeears ago, when steam was still in its infancy. Even at the time it was an indie game, so by todays standards its meh. The game is enjoyable with a friend, the only real downside to it is 30 fps lock but hey you get used to it

2(3)D Platformer. Sehr gute (360) Controller Unterstützung (leider nicht im UI) Einzigartig (und schwierig) alleine durch die andauernden Perspektivenwechsel. Für Collectathon Fans bestimmt reizvoll. Ich fand die Instagib Dornen nervig. Nicht schlecht aber imho zu Try/Errorig.
